Background & Aim: Self-medication has various implications for children's health. Given the limited documentation on the prevalence of self-medication in children in Iran, this study aims to investigate the frequency of non-academic treatments in children and the phenomenon of self-medication by parents Methods: A cross-sectional study involving 300 parents of hospitalized children at the emergency department of Akbar Children's Hospital in Mashhad was conducted to examine the prevalence of self-medication before hospitalization. A census sampling method was employed. Data were collected using the "Self-Medication and its Prevalence" questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 23. Results: The study included 300 children with an average age of 6.09 ± 3.13 years, consisting of 150 boys and 150 girls. Two hundred and eighty-three participants lived in urban areas, and 280 had insurance coverage. Parental self-prescription of medication occurred in 197 cases, with 208 having a history of previous self-prescribed medication. The most common illnesses leading to self-medication in the last 6 months were cold (94.7%), headache (78.7%), and fever (60.7%). The most commonly used medications were cold remedies (93.7%), analgesics (89%), and antibiotics (52.7%) Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that self-medication is reported in over 69% of the participants. Education and implementation of various strategies to reduce this phenomenon are recommended, considering its potential consequences.

Background & Aim: The importance of this research considering the consequences of anxiety disorders on the one hand and the cognitive processes and symptoms of panic disorder on the other hand, by comparing and then using the appropriate and accurate transcranial electrical stimulation intervention and transcognitive therapy, trying to improve these consequences. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of transcranial electrical stimulation and metacognitive therapy on the cognitive processes of people with panic disorder. Methods: This study was conducted using a semi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test design on 45 people with panic disorder in 1401 in Mashhad. The research subjects were randomly assigned to three groups of 15 people with transcranial electrical stimulation and metacognitive therapy as an experimental group and a control group, and cognitive processes were measured using the questionnaire of agoraphobic cognitions and the questionnaire of panic disorder symptoms. Data analysis was done using the statistical test of analysis of covariance and with spss-24 software. Results: The results of the study showed that by removing the effect of pre-test cognitive processes scores as a covariate, the main effect of transcranial electrical stimulation and metacognitive therapy on the cognitive processes of people with panic disorder in the post-test is significant. In other words, the results show that the observed difference between the average scores of the participants of the experimental group (-15.98) and the control group (-16.35) in terms of group membership in the post-test stage is significant with 95% confidence (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings show that metacognitive therapy has a greater effect on reducing cognitive processes

Abstract:

Introduction: The brachial plexus is a complex network located in the neck and axilla region. Various variations of the brachial plexus have been reported, which are clinically significant. Objective: Given that variations of the brachial plexus, especially involving the musculocutaneous and median nerves, are relatively common, the aim of this study is to report an anatomical variation of the brachial plexus related to the musculocutaneous and median nerves. Methods: In this study, during the dissection of a 71-year-old male cadaver in the anatomy hall of the medical school at Torbat Heydarieh University of Medical Sciences, a variation in the median nerve was observed. In this case, the median nerve, which normally separates from the lateral and medial cords and descends in the arm to the cubital fossa without any connection to other nerves, after the coracobrachialis muscle was found to be connected to the musculocutaneous nerve. Results: A comprehensive understanding of variations in upper limb nerves can be crucial in interpreting and diagnosing various types of surgeries, especially those related to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the brachial plexus. Conclusion: It can be concluded that population areas such as urban and rural centers are vulnerable to air pollution in terms of social vulnerability and Nimroz and Hamoon counties have the lowest social vulnerability.

Methods: The current research was a causal-comparative study. The statistical population was the patients who recovered from covid-19 and were discharged from the 9-Day Hospital of Torbet Heydarieh city, 352 people were selected using the available sampling method. The research tool was Schering's Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using chi-square test and independent t-test using spss no. 21 software. Results: There was a significant difference between the components of emotional intelligence in two groups recovered from covid-19 and healthy people (p<0.05), so that people who recovered from covid-19 obtained lower scores in the variables of self-awareness and empathy. But in the variables of self-control, self-motivation and social skills, the healthy group had a higher score. Conclusion: In order to improve the mental health of people after contracting the Covid-19 disease, it is suggested to use the psychological intervention of emotional intelligence training in the design of treatment programs for these patients.

Abstract:

Background & Aim: Pregnancy is one of the most important events in a woman's life and is often considered as a period of excitement, expectation and change. The Aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between sleep problems and childhood trauma with the mediation of resilience in pregnant women in Tehran. Methods: An analytical-correlational study was conducted on 288 pregnant women who referred to medical centers in Tehran in the first half of 2023. Pregnant women were selected by targeted non-random sampling method.. Three questionnaires of sleep problems, resilience of Connor and Davidson (CD-RISC) and childhood trauma (CTQ) were completed by pregnant women. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS-27 and LISREL-8/8 software and Pearson correlation tests and structural equations. Results: The average age of pregnant women was (32.58±9.6) and the majority of them (41.5%) had a bachelor's degree. The findings confirmed the existence of a relationship between childhood trauma (r=0.25) and resilience (r=-0.21) with the dependent variable of sleep problems (p<0.01), which shows that the increase in resilience reduces sleep problems. will follow Also, childhood trauma had a significant relationship with resilience variable (p<0.01, r=-0.20) and it was shown with a coefficient of determination of 37% of the variance. The fit of the model was higher than average and a good value. Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, it is suggested to focus more on childhood problems and injuries and the resilience of pregnant women so that they can experience less sleep problems during pregnancy.

Abstract:

Background & Aim: Nausea, vomiting and food craving during pregnancy are common problems for women that, in addition to affecting the quality of life, can be risks such as insufficient weight gain during pregnancy, gastrointestinal problems, preterm delivery, low birth weight and, in more severe cases, abortion. The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of nausea, vomiting and pregnancy cravings and their related factors in pregnant women referring to health centers in Zahedan. Methods: In a descriptive-analytical study, 600 pregnant women referred to health centers in Zahedan city were selected and examined by multi-stage sampling method. Data gathering tool; the researcher-made questionnaire contained demographic and pregnancy information, nausea, vomiting, pregnancy cravings and mother's food pattern. Data were analyzed using SPSS.22 software and chi-square, t-test and one-way analysis of variance tests. Results: The mean age of pregnant women was 27.07±6.29 years. The prevalence of food craving, nausea & vomiting in the studied women was 55.4%, and 70.5%, respectively. Statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups with and without nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in terms of mother's education and the number of meals consumed (p<0.05). Statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups with and without food craving in terms of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (p<0.05). Conclusion: Considering the relatively high prevalence of nausea, vomiting and food craving, knowing the related factors and early diagnosis of these problems during prenatal care and their effective treatment can reduce its consequences on women's health and quality of life.
