Aim: The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of Myofascial Trigger Release Technique versus Muscle Energy Technique on muscle activity and pain among individuals with Text Neck Syndrome Methodand Materials: A total of 112 subjects with Text neck syndrome were selected using simple random sampling technique from Saveetha medical college and hospital based on inclusion and exclusion criteria after which detailed study procedure were explained to patients and written informed consent were obtained. The participants age from 18 to 30 years and both male and female gender had been diagnosed with Text neck syndrome. The 56 individuals in each group into two groups. The experimental group (Myofascial trigger release technique) Control group (Muscle energy technique) for both groups pretest results from, EMG and pressure algometer were documented. Treatment intervention consisted of 4 weeks with 3 sessions per week. Findings: On comparing pre-test and post-test within experimental group & control group on EMG and Pressure algometer score shows highly significant difference in mean values at P ≤ 0.0001. Conclusion: The study concluded that the myofascial trigger release technique was more effective than muscle energy technique.

Aim: One of the major global occupational diseases and injuries is musculoskeletal disorders, which leads to increased costs and reduced working productivity. It is essential to assess the risk factors that influence development of these diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between risk factors affecting work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in the food industry using the Fuzzy DEMATEL method. Methods: In this study, 46 occupational risk factors related to musculoskeletal disorders in the food sector were selected from related articles and classified according to the 4m method. Fuzzy DEMATEL study is designed and delivered to experts. Finally, these risk factors were evaluated using the Fuzzy DEMATEL method. Findings: The cause- effect relationship between 46 risk factors was determined using the Fuzzy DEMATEL method. According to results, the age factor (D-R=2.26) has a greater influence compared to other identified risk factors (is the most causal) and the job satisfaction factor compared to other identified risk factors, is the most influential factor (D-R=-2.26). According to the results, the most important risk factor is the duration of work (D+R=7.46) and the least important is related to the genetic risk factor (D+R=2.64). Conclusion: The DEMATEL method allows us to better plan and solve problems. In this way, in order to better understand cause-effect relationships, we can divide several criteria into cause-effect groups to build a correlation map.

Aims: This study aims to examine the epidemiology of bodybuilding injuries among amateur bodybuilders and explore the association between mental aspects, sleep quality, and other potential factors with such injuries. Method and Materials: We conducted a internet- based survey gathering data from 320 amateur bodybuilders. These data were about personal characteristics, practice routines, Mental Aspect (obsessive passion and exercise motivation), sleep quality, and injuries over the preceding six months. The descriptive analysis and logistic regression were applied to analyze collected data. Findings: The findings revealed that 170 participants (53.8%) of participants had experienced at least one injury, predominantly affecting the knee and shoulder 61 participants (19%), and the finger/wrist 33 participant (13%). Obsessive passion, sleep quality, and being male were significant risk factors for these injuries. Obsessive passion had an Odds Ratio (OR) of 1.65, sleep quality an OR of 1.07, and male sex an OR of 2.11. Conclusion: The present study revealed the multifactorial nature of bodybuilding injuries, emphasizing the importance of considering mental aspects and sleep quality in injury prevention and management strategies for bodybuilders.

Aims: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of emotion focused therapy on the metaphorical perception of pain and time in patients with musculoskeletal pain. Materials & Methods: The study method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design and control group. The population was all people with chronic pain in the 2024 in Tehran. According to this purpose, 30 patients with musculoskeletal pain were selected voluntarily and randomly assigned to intervention and control groups (experimental group=15, and control group=15). The Questionnaire of the study was Raiisi`s Pain Metaphorical Perception, and Raiisi`s Time Metaphorical Perception. The experimental group received twelve sessions of 90-minute emotion focused therapy. The control group did not receive any intervention. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance by SPSS-26. Findings: The results indicated that emotion focused therapy significantly increased components of pain (object, force, human, and causality), and time metaphorical perception (matter, place, and object) in patients with musculoskeletal pain (P<0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this research emphasized the effectiveness of emotion focused therapy on the pain, and time metaphorical perception. As a result, evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches such as emotion focused therapy can influence metaphorical understanding.

Abstract:

Aims: Diabetic Neuropathy Pain (DNP) is a chronic condition that arises from nerve damage caused by prolonged hyperglycemia. It leads to burning, tingling, and sharp pain, primarily in the extremities. This study examines the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in mitigating recurrent negative thoughts, reducing anxiety sensitivity, and enhancing emotional adjustment in individuals with DNP. Method and Materials: The study employed a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group, involving 36 patients with DNP from Ardabil clinics located in Ardabil, Iran in 2024. Patients were purposively sampled and randomly assigned to intervention (n = 18) and control (n = 18) groups. The intervention group underwent eight 90-minute CBT sessions, while the control group received no intervention. Data were gathered using the Repetitive Negative Thinking Questionnaire, Anxiety Sensitivity Index-3, and Emotional Adjustment Measure. The collected data were analyzed using MANCOVA in SPSS-27. Findings: The results demonstrated that CBT significantly improves emotional adjustment (F = 49.46) and reduces recurrent negative thoughts (F = 45.41), as well as physical (F = 52.27), cognitive (F = 59.61), and social dimensions of anxiety sensitivity (F = 38.34) in individuals with DNP (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The findings highlight CBT's transformative impact on the psychological resilience of DNP patients, fostering adaptive emotional regulation and diminishing maladaptive thought patterns. By addressing the interconnected dimensions of anxiety sensitivity and emotional adjustment, CBT offers a pathway to holistic pain management, emphasizing its potential as a cornerstone in the psychological care of chronic pain conditions.

Abstract Aims: Pronation distortion syndrome (PDS) is a common postural deviation that can lead to various complications. Prevention and reducing the risk of injury are more important than treatment, and a significant part of this issue can be achieved through pre-participation screening. This study aimed to compare the functional movement screening (FMS) scores in female athletes with and without PDS. Methods: This study included female athletes with and without PDS, divided into PDS (N=20) and WPDS groups (N=20). PDS was assessed with navicular drop index for flatfoot, flexible ruler for lumbar lordosis, and caliper for Genu valgum, respectively. The FMS kit was used to determine the FMS scores. The independent T-test was used to analyze inferential statistics, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze non-parametric data. The significant level is considered to be p < 0.05. Findings: The results showed significant differences in deep squat (P<0.001), hurdle step (P=0.007), in-line lunge (P=0.027), active straight leg raise (P=0.006), trunk stability push-up (P=0.011), and rotary stability (P=0.005), indicating that the scores for these items were higher in WPDS compared to PDS. Additionally, the findings suggested no difference in shoulder mobility (P=0.277) between the two groups. Conclusion: PDS seems to influence different body parts' musculoskeletal and functional status, resulting in lower FMS scores among female athletes with PDS. Routine screening and targeted corrective strategies should be implemented to enhance movement quality and decrease injury risk within this group.
