This is a Quasi-experimental research, that has been carried out, in order to, evaluate, "The effect of Paced respiration and muscular relaxation techniques on vasomotor symptoms in the menopausal women," referred to a selected hospital of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.Subjects (patients) were 90 menopausal women 45-60 years old, with at least 2-3 hot flushes per day, who were divided into 3 equal groups: A: Paced respiration groupB: Combined relaxation (progressive muscular relaxation and paced relaxation)C: Control groupAfter teaching paced and relaxation procedures to the subjects in 5-6 sessions and practicing, treatment procedures in 5-6 sessions and practicing, treatment procedures were performed in 15-20 minute periods, twice or more times a day, for ten days (every other day).After collecting data from treated and control groups by questionnaire on the 20th day, Results were analysed and compared before and after treatment by descriptive analysis and analytical tests, such as, Chi square, Fisher, T test, T student and variance analysis.We concluded that, "Frequency and intensity of hat flushes and other vasomotor symptoms in treated groups were significantly reduced (P <0.01)."
