Abstract:

Student dormitory as a social and cultural space plays an important role in students' satisfaction from university and higher education and their educational performance, which is why understanding the living conditions of dormitories and their management is necessary to improve it. The present article, while conceptualizing the quality of dormitory life, uses survey method and questionnaire technique to study the quality of dormitory life among 2500 students in 10 university districts and 22 universities in the country. The findings showed that in the welfare dimension, students were dissatisfied with the facilities of the room, the building and the dormitory, the cultural facilities and the physical welfare facilities. In the cultural dimension, on the one hand, students were dissatisfied with the cultural activities and programs in the dormitory, and on the other hand, they would not enjoy their leisure time. In the social dimension, the identity of social pathologies among girls was mainly related to sexuality and friendship relationships (friendship, sexual and party). The most commonly used tobacco products among students were first hookahs, followed by cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, drugs and pip. Many of them were dissatisfied with the time of traffic in the dormitory. In general, students' satisfaction with the subjective quality of dormitory life, both intuitively and in logical form, was low. The results indicate that there is a low level of quality of objective life in dormitories, which in turn affects their subjective quality.

Abstract:

University is as a socio-cultural place in which generational relations flow intergenerational and within a same generation and it has effects on specialized services. The purpose of this research is to study the generations of Iranian academics and compare them with generations in the world to study the social characteristics of each generation in their ecosystems. The research method is documentary and analytical reasoning. In the theoretical discussions, there are five generations of Iranians corresponding to the five generations of the contemporary world; First generation: veterans/ Iranian constitutional generation; Second generation: Boomers/ the generation of Iranian nationalism; Third generation: generation X/ generation of modernization in Iran; Fourth generation: generation Y or Millennium/ Generation of Islamic Revolution; Fifth generation: Z or Net generation/ Generation of Post-Revolution. The first generation is familiar with the Mertonian norms and tradition of staying in an elite university. The second generation is accompanied by the growth of political norms and dominant scientific norms. The third generation is associated with the growth of politics and ideology along with learning science and then its conquest. In the fourth generation, growth has started, and the turn is from education to research and science two style sciences. In the fifth generation, knowledge has been a commodity and business, the rotation is from research to entrepreneurship along with a decline in the tradition of residence. The result is that the serious differences in the characteristics of the fifth generation in the last century have caused these different generations not be able to experience creative and effective academic lives.

Abstract:

Semiotics is the science of studying the sign systems and, in fact, an interpretive process for understanding the hidden truth behind the signs, mysteries, and signs and cultural symbols. In addition, semiotics tells us that structures can be meaningful. The sign system in the Islamic Republic of Iran is very important because of the creation of a new Shiite identity. The present study examines the process of transition from political symbols to social symbols in the stamps between 1979-2001 as a cultural instrument of the Islamic Republic of Iran through a combination of content analysis and semiotics. The findings of this study indicate that the process of changing the emblems on stamps between 1979-2001 indicates that the Islamic Republic of Iran's legitimacy has shifted from rulers to society and from political to social.

Abstract:

This article is to represent the linguistic indicators of gender in, Kalidar, the longest Persian novel. In this work of art, which is not so far from an anthropological report, women have an important and complicated place. Despite of a fundamental role they play in different aspects of daily life, Kalidar women are humiliated under literary gender cliché s. The novel is full of proverbs and ironies which have been commonplace in vulgar Persian language for ridiculing and despising femininity. Our main question is: what is the place of women in Kalider from the point of view of a moderate feminism? And our hypothesis is that there is a paradoxical position for women in this novel. On one hand, they are represented as a source of life for men and for all of the family and thereby for the whole community, in some extent, because of the very particular life style of nomadic people, and on the other hand, they have a sense of insult and contempt, due to the general treatment whit women in almost every pre modern community. It means that those cliché s have not been deducted from a low role of women in real life, but are constructed by a sexist culture.

Abstract:

The present paper attempts to shed light on a literary discourse which has been dominant in Iranian literature field since mid-1380's. The case study here is an Iranian poet, Alireza Azar whose poems have been defined through four characteristic features, namely anti-idealism, disappointment toward future, individualism, and death-oriented approach to life. Here we examine these features in relation to social and political changes in post-revolutionary Iran. In fact, Azar here serves as an exemplary model through which we can find out the correlations between social changes and the literary discourse. Considering that critical discourse inquires the relation between discourses and social context and goes beyond the historical limits and beliefs, it has been adopted as the method. Although there are different approaches in critical discourse, critical analysis of Norman Fairclough can conveniently explain how a certain notion of the world has been articulated. It understands any conceptual frameworks in its context, and challenges any absolute truths.
