The problem of crime and insecurity is one of the most important problems in rural and urban areas. Most crimes occur in regions with prone environmental conditions. Inappropriate ambient design provides a suitable environment for criminal actions. The purpose of this study is evaluating the components of environmental quality in order to provide the basis for implementing crime prevention policies in rural areas. Present study is practical in objective and descriptive-analytical in mothed. Data collection is performed by library method, official statistics and field studies (questionnaire). SPSS and Arc GIS softwares are utilized in order to analyze collected data. Statistical society are 35 rural settlements with at least 20 households in Shahriar county, which from these 18 settlements selected randomly. 378 random households selected by Cochran sampling technique in order to extend findings to the statistical society. The findings revealed that three indexes are in a poor conditions including supervision, control and availability, supporting Social activity. Overall average of indexes is 2. 90 which implies environment poor conditions in the regions under study. Also, the results of spatial analysis show that according to the environmental design components, 4 villages are in desirable condition, 10 villages are in moderate condition and 4 other villages are in Undesirable condition.
