Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of HIIT training and supplementation of black grape seed extract on Wnt and Β-catenin gene expression in pancreatic tissue in male rats with type 2 diabetes. Methods: In this experimental study, 40 male Wistar rats, with average weight of 250 ± 20 gr, after induction of diabetes by STZ, were randomly divided into 5 groups: training-supplement, training-placebo, supplement and diabetic-control and base control. After becoming diabetic, rats were familiarized with protocol for one week and then trained for eight weeks, five days a week. They ran on treadmill with 90% of VO2 max. Intragastric injection of GSPE extracted from black grape seed (Cabernet sauvignon) once a day for 8 weeks (250 mg/kg, proanthocyanidin content >96%). 24 hours after the last session of training, pancreas tissue was extracted, and the level of gene expression was measured by Real Time-PCR. In all statistical analyzes, the statistical significance level was considered to be 0. 05. Results: Eight weeks and supplement significantly increased the mean expression of Wnt and Β-catenin genes in pancreatic tissue of type 2 diabetic rats but the effect of exercise with black grape seed extract on the expression of Wnt genes in the pancreas of diabetic rats was not significant. Conclusion: It seems that regulating the expression of Wnt and Β-catenin genes through exercise and consumption of black grape seed extract is likely to improve and maintain the function of pancreatic beta cells, especially in diabetic samples.

Background: Cytokines are immune related factors. Production of pro inflammatory cytokines in diabetic patients is increased, which is exacerbated by vigorous training. This study investigates the response of serum IL-2 and IL-4 to eight-week high Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with caffeine intake on inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses in diabetic rats. Methods: In a clinical-interventional animal study, 50 male rats were randomly assigned to 5 equal groups (control group (C), diabetes group (D), diabetes + caffeine group (D+Ca), diabetes + training group (D+T), diabetes + training + caffeine group (D+Ca+T)) and subjected to 8 weeks of caffeine supplementation (70 mg / kg of caffeine powder was injected five days each week) and 8 weeks of 5 sessions per week with 6 to 12 times, 2-min intervals with intensity of 85-90% of maximal speed. 48 hours after the last training session, immunological factors including IL-2 and IL-4 were measured. Statistical analysis of variables was performed using One-way ANOVA and Tukey tests at the significant level (P<0. 05). Results: The results showed that (D+Ca) group had the lowest IL2 in comparison with (D) group (P= 0. 001). IL-4 had the highest in (D+Ca) and (D+Ca+T) groups (P = 0. 001). But these differences were not statistically significant between (D+Ca) and (D+Ca+T) groups (P= 0. 67). Conclusion: It seems that caffeine to play a role in improving the status of IL-2 and IL-4 in streptozotocininduced diabetes, but HIIT exercises are not effective in this regard.

Background: Diabetes is a chronic and progressive metabolic disorder that leads to more severe cardiac complications. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of Berberine chloride at a dose of 50 mg / kg on the heart tissue of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats with aerobic training. Methods: 56 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into seven groups (n = 8): control (C), sham (S), Aerobic training control (TC), diabetes mellitus (DM), diabetes-berberine (BDM), diabetes mellitus. Aerobic training (TDM), and aerobic training-berberine (TBDM) were divided. Diabetes was induced by injection of streptozotocin in male rats. The training groups performed aerobic exercise program (10-18 m / min, 10-40 min five days a week) for six weeks on the treadmill for histological evaluation using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), Masson trichrome and staining Immunohistochemicals were used to measure diameter change, cardiomyocyte rupture, change in nuclei, and collagen deposition in cardiac muscle fibers using one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests with SPSS 21 software. Results: The results showed that DM group did not induce cardiomyocyte fibers rupture and collagen deposition and reduction of filament diameter in group C, S and TC and its damage in heart tissue was less in TBDM group than in BDM and TDM groups. Conclusion: The results showed that berberine supplementation reduced these effects and synergized with aerobic training and reduced the cardiac cardiomyocyte muscle fibers diameter and decreased collagen deposition and better order of nuclei.

Abstract:

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of high fat diet-induced obesity and interval and continuous exercise training on visceral fat SIRT1 and insulin resistance in male rats. Method: Forty male rats were divided into two groups: high-fat diet (HFD; n=32) and standard diet (C; n=8). After 10 weeks inducing obesity, eight rats from the HFD and C groups were sacrificed, and rest of obese rats were randomly divided into three groups: obesity control (OC), moderate intensity continuous training (MICT) and high intensity interval training (HIIT). The HIIT and MICT protocols were performed for 12 weeks and 5 sessions per week. Visceral fat samples were collected to measure protein levels of SIRT1 by western. Results: Induction of obesity was associated with a significant decrease in visceral fat SIRT1 and an increase in insulin resistance (P˂ 0. 05). In contrast, both HIIT and MICT significantly increased visceral fat SIRT1 protein levels (P˂ 0. 05), whereas HIIT effects were significantly higher (P˂ 0. 05). Also, both HIIT and MICT protocols improved insulin resistance (P˂ 0. 05). Conclusion: Exercise training is likely to play an important role in regulation of visceral fat SIRT1 and because of that may be effective in improving insulin resistance. The increase in SIRT1 also appears to be dependent on the intensity of exercise training.

Abstract:

Background: Nowadays, thinness is generally considered as a standard of women's beauty, and high BMI is associated with negative physical and psychological consequences among women, including negative body image and eating disorders. Therefore, identifying the effective factors in reducing these outcomes seems necessary. The purpose of this study was to determine the moderating role of self-compassion in the relationship between body mass index, body image and symptoms of eating disorders. Methods: The research method was correlation and the statistical population was all female students of Tehran in 2018 that Among them, 345 students were selected by convenient sampling. Measurement tools included Eating Disorders Diagnostic Scale (EDDS), Self-compassion Measurement Scale (SCS) and Body Appreciation Scale (BAS-2). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis (hierarchical method). Results: The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between body mass index and eating disorder (P<0. 01), and a significant negative correlation with body appreciation and self-compassion (P <0. 01). On the other hand, the results of hierarchical regression analysis showed that self-compassion moderates the relationship between body mass index and symptoms of eating disorders (P<0. 01), but it did not moderate the relationship between body mass index and body appreciation (P>0. 05). Conclusion: These findings showed that self-compassion may protect women against negative consequences of a high body mass index. As a result, self-compassion can be beneficial in improving mental health and preventing disorders.
