Objective: The present paper studies the feasibility of implementing electronic reference services in the Central Library and Documentation Center of University of Tehran [CENLIB].Methodology: A user-centered approach was implemented based on descriptive method through the use of researcher-developed questionnaire.Samples were drawn from postgraduate students' members of CENLIB. Findings: Results indicate that users who have access to ICT, because of their relative familiarity with ICT-based services, are more inclined towards electronic reference services.

Objective: The main aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive set of fuzzy inference system based on the most important website services of Iranian digital libraries website in order to quality assessment of these websites and improve the quality of them in accordance of the status of the services.Methodology: By a deep and comprehensive review of digital library websites in Iran, the most basic and most commonly used website services of Iranian digital library has been extracted. This website services then evaluated by Shannon entropy and content validity ratio in order to identify the most basic and applicable website services of these websites. Then by creating fuzzy inference system, the quality of the digital library website in Iran has been assessed.Findings: Findings of current research include widely used digital library website services and fuzzy inference system, which is used for evaluating digital library websites. This proposed framework will be useful for web site designers, developers and managers so as to help them design web pages more efficiently and more effectively. In addition they would take advantageous of the FIS proposed with the aim of evaluating the quality of their websites.

Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the cost spent on databases in Yazd University and compare it with the amount of use of the resources by users Methodology: A survey has been conducted. The cost - benefit analysis of Science Direct, ProQuest and EBSCO has been calculated by securing financial information about the subscription fee, and the numbers of articles have been downloaded in 2009.Findings: The cost - benefit of the three databases, respectively, are 65, 814, 21, 572, 6, 653 Rials.29.24% of all publications in Science Direct haven’t been used at all. In terms of the frequency of use, only 2 of the 7 subset of EBSCO have been used more heavily.53/34% of the total articles from ProQuestare covered in one of its subsets.The databases are ranked based on their cost - benefit is Science Direct, ProQuest, and EBSCO

Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the function of Hamadan University of Medical science in implementing of Knowledge Management.Methodology: This research is a descriptive survey with applied nature. Statistical population includes working staffs from diploma degree up, Hamadan University of Medical Science. The number of statistic population's staff was 2300, and among this statistic population the sample size with 180 people were randomly selected. The data gathering instruments were questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and one-sample t-test were used for analyzing of data.Findings: After analyzing the statistical data, research findings show that the processes of "Knowledge identity" with point average of 2.55, "Knowledge Acquisition" with point average of 2.47, "Knowledge Development" with point average of 2.49, "Knowledge Sharing& Distribution" with point average of 2.38, "Knowledge Utilization" with point average of 2.51, "Knowledge Retention" with point average of 2.62, and situation of Knowledge management in general, with point average of 2.50, were lower average.

Objective: The study intends to provide a suitable model and practical solutions for design and implementation of future digital libraries with emphasis on offering smart services Methods: Content analysis was used to collect, extract and analyze the necessary data using LIS and Computer Science corpus as the baseline.Findings: given the deployment of artificial intelligent devices and emerging ICT services, future trend of digital libraries posits “Smart Libraries” as a new generation of digital libraries. One of the hallmarks of such libraries that lends itself to faster and easier user access to information includes intelligent meta search engines, clustering techniques, trend analysis, knowledge discovery, library customization, query answering, intelligent search and statistical survey.

Objective: The present investigation compares the degree of self-citation of Iranian scholarly publications indexed in both Iranian Science Citation (ISC) and ISI’s Web of Science (WoS). The study covers the 2005-2009period. Subject distribution, extent of self-citations, mean differences in self-citation and nature of co-authorships and corporate affiliations were also studied.Methodology: Bibliometric method was deployed. The sample included 1089 articles indexed in ISC and 27729 articles indexed in WoS for 2005-2009 periods. Typical samples were taken using regular random sampling.Findings: Results indicated that WoS has the higher rate of co-authorships, citations, and self-citations for Iranian articles indexed than ISC. No significance was observed in either databases regarding number of citations and number of authors. Examination of subject scope indicated that while Humanities and Social Sciences have the highest share in ISC, Basic Sciences are dominant in WoS.

Objective: This research aims to investigate the correlation between ergonomics conditions and job burnout among Librarians in the University of Isfahan.Methodology: The research method is descriptive correlation study. The research data was collected by Maslash burnout inventory for determining job burnout among librarians and checklist of standards and principles of ergonomics for evaluation of ergonomics conditions.The population consists of 61 librarians of University of Isfahan, the questionnaire was delivered to all of them and 57 copies were returned. For analyzing the data the SPSS 16 was used.Findings: The findings showed there is no correlation between ergonomics conditions and intensity and frequency of emotional exhaustion, personal performance and depersonalization.
