Abstract

To determine the frequency of flowering, viable seed production and other phenological phenomena of ZYGOPHYLLUM atriplicoides in various SITE CONDITIONs (elevation and latitude) 10 plants, of mature age and well developed crown selected and numbered at each site. All sites have been visited every two weeks during two years of study period: the results are as follows: the phenological stages of this species vary according to altitude. In coastall areas (150m above sea level) vegetative regrowth begins in November while at higher elevation (1500m above sea level) regrowth occurs in late december. This plant is coverd by green leaves from Januery to April and defoliated from June to August. The time of flowering in the coastal area is approximately late January and in higher elevation is around mid March.
