Abstract

 This study was conducted to investigate the effects of water salinity and planting pattern on characteristics of forage corn (704) quality and quantity. The design was split plot with three replications during three years. The Main plot is irrigation water salinity with three levels, fresh water (W1), semi saline water (W2)and saline water (W3).the Sub plot is planting pattern with two level, planting in furrow (A1)and planting on the two side of furrow (A2). The results of the experiment showed that water salinity and planting pattern significantly affected on the dry of total yield, stem yield, leaf yield, cob yield, height of stem, stem diameter and protein yield. The interaction of saline water and planting pattern significantly affected on the total yield dry and its components and yield of protein. The results of Dancun test showed that maximum total dry yield was 7.5 T/ha in treatments of W1A2 and W2A2, maximum stem height and stem diameter were 105 and 1.9 cm and maximum of protein yield was 0.48 T/ha in treatments of W2A2. Finally water salinity with (EC=5.5 dS/m) and planting on the two sides of furrow best to compare with other treatments.
