CULTIVARS ON THE GROWTH OF EFFECT OF NUTRIENT SOLUTION AND LETTUCE (LACTUCA SATIVA L.) IN HYDROPONIC CULTURE

Abstract

 Water agriculture in green houses is now a days enjoying a significant status. This is due to the higher YIELD and higher qualities gained through relatively less costs. In the present research the growth index and YIELDs of two CULTIVARs (lettuce) were analyzed under the effect of two NUTRIENT SOLUTIONs. The factorial analysis (2x2) has been applied with completely random design on water culture (NFT) in the green house in Guilan University. The finding suggests that the effect of CULTIVAR on total dry matter weight, unusable leaf number and the total plant weight was not meaningful. However the effect of CULTIVAR on the amount of chlorophyll (p<1%) as well as on the number of usable leaves (p<5%) was meaningful. The effect of NUTRIENT SOLUTIONs on the total dry matter, amount of chlorophyll and the number of unusable leaves was not significant. This effect however was significant on the number of usable leaves (p<5%) and the total wet weight (p<1%). The interactive effect of CULTIVAR and solution on the studied features was not significant. Finally we could conclude that the suggested solution had more effect on the growth parameter and the effect was more intensive on Rashel CULTIVAR.
