Investigating the Tigris symbol in Mohammad Mehdi Javaheri's poetry

Abstract

 Javaheri is one of the most famous poets of Iraq, who has brought the political and social issues of this country in his poems with full sensitivity.He has used Tigris River In these poems as a symbol in the concepts of uprising, Patriotism, majesty, goodness,fertility.Considering the importance of the symbol in recognizing political and social issues, this research aims to investigate and analyze the symbol of the Tigris as one of the most important literary,political and social symbols in the poetry of Javaheri with descriptive-analytical method.The most important findings of this research show that by using the symbolic concepts of the Tigris, Javaheri incites the Iraqi people to rebel against the colonialists.he asks them to refrain from accepting the oppression of their enemies.The poet expresses the suffering of exile and distance from the homeland by whispering to the Tigris and expresses his love and devotion to Iraq by addressing this river. He says about the glory and greatness of ancient Iraq that it was once the breeding ground of men who built the world. By depicting the beautiful nature and the enchanting scenery of the Tigris, he considers this river to be a source of the development of this country.
