Abstract

solvent extraction is one of the concentration and purification methods for URANIUM extraction from leach solution. The extraction of URANIUM from NITRIC ACID solution was carried out by DI-butyl carbitol (DBC). In this study, the effect of concentrations of both solvent and NITRIC ACID, temperature and mixing time were investigated. Optimal conditions for the SOLVENT EXTRACTION of URANIUM by DBC obtained under NITRIC ACID concentration 30%, DI-butyl carbitol concentration 60%, kerosene as DIluent 40%, temperature 20°C and mixing time 4 minutes. In these conditions the maximum extraction of URANIUM was obtained %46.07 in one stage while in two stages was reached about 52%. In addition URANIUM extraction can be increased to 70% by three stages.
