PREPARATION OF INORGANIC HEAT RESISTANT PIGMENTS BY SYNTHESIZING SIO2/TIO2 NANOPARTICLES ON ZEOLITE

Abstract

 In this study, SiO2/TiO2- zeolite PIGMENTs were synthesized by immobilizing mixed silica and titanium dioxide nanoparticles on modified zeolite via a SOL-GEL method. The characteristics of PIGMENTs were investigated by Fourier – Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Electron dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). FTIR spectra showed AL (IV) and Si-o-Ti bonds on zeolite. SEM and EDX results showed the presence of silica and titanium dioxide nanoparticles on zeolite. TGA result demonstrated an increase in thermal stability through immobilizing of silica particles in titanium dioxide. This ternary composite can use as a filler or coating agent in fire man's clothing.
