Title

DEVELOPING A SIMULATION SOFTWARE FOR OPEN CYCLE LIQUID PROPELLANT ENGINES

Abstract

 Liquid propellant rocket engine is one of the main elements of space vehicles, with this reason having the correct prediction of behavior of the engine in operational time lead to decrease in cost and design time. In this article using physical and mathematical equations for propulsion systems, major elements of an open cycle LPE [(Liquid Propellant Engine) (such as pipes, valves, GG (Gas Generator), CC (Combustion chamber)], turbo pump assembly) are modeled and using Fortran 90 programming language, the NONLINEAR and dynamic governing differential equations are numerically solved and a general simulator for open cycle LPEs is developed. The developed simulator has the capability to receive the hydraulic circuit of any open cycle engine for SIMULATION.
