Abstract

The expansion of the cities is programmed that it will be able to satisfy the needs and requirements of the residents and it has always been one of the main purposes of urban planners. Considering the problems that we are faced with in programming expansion of the cities in the recent century, studying the factors that actually influence the growing of cities can be a good and appropriate guide for us in recognizing the EFFECTIVE FACTORS and measuring their quantity of effectiveness in future. Considering that city size has influence on EFFECTIVE FACTORS to DEVELOPMENT of cities seriously, in this research are divided cities to some groups for size primarily, and then we will study the expansion of 10 LARGE AND MIDDLE CITIES of IRAN in the recent decades- population range in the studied cities is 350,000-600,000 people- so that we may be able to understand the causes of this issue and finally identify the common factors existing in all of them and also the specific factors for each city. In this paper has been attempted to study the expansion of the cities according to credit-worthy resources that are related to this issue and by using library studies technique.
