INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF DRY HEAT (UNDER LOW PRESSURE) ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF COTTON FABRICS

Abstract

 A experimental analysis of effects of DRY HEAT (under low pressure) and test speed on load-extension behavior of COTTON PLAIN WAVE FABRIC is presented. For this reason we preparations samples under this conditions: the samples heated in two states continuous and periodic then tested under UNIAXIAL TENSILE deformation with various test speed (300 and 450 mm/Min). The results showed in both test speed the strength increase when DRY HEAT apply periodic. Also the DRY HEAT cause reduces the elongation at break of fabric and in heated fabric the elongation at break is greater than unheated fabric.
