Abstract

DANCE is kind of showing moods with moving body rhythmically and orderly with MUSIC. DANCE is one of the oldest fields of art that was associated with each civilization since beginning; mostly has been performed for ritual, prayer, magic, drama, entertainment or purely aesthetic purposes.India is a vast country that remains highly popular because its rich culture, religious beliefs and philosophical ideas. In Pre-Aryan, Aryan and other historic times in India rise DANCE culture in this country. This culture rooted in Hindu faith and praise to divine power has led to emergence of DANCE to praise the gods. Indian knew DANCE as a gift of god to worship the gods and promote this art in their own temples. In India more than any other civilizations, DANCE and MUSIC consider as a divine gift. Since DANCE is an ancient Indian art, researchers in this paper have attempted to prove existence of DANCE in pre-history and HISTORY of this country, with studying on the archaeological evidence, reliefs and DANCE- related religious statues in the temples. Since the complexion of myth and HISTORY in INDIAN MYTHOLOGY; the study on HISTORY regardless mythology is impossible, the links between DANCEs with mythology has also been studied. Historical description method used in this study.
