Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and detect the verminous infection of the cattle respiratory system. During the second half of the year 1387 (Sep.23, 2008 – Mar.14, 2009) samples were taken from a total of 1235 slaughtered cattle in 28 sessions which lead to 251 cases of lungs infected with HYDATID CYSTs and 4 cases of lungs infected with LINGUATULA SERRATA out of 418 cases of condemned lungs. Based on the results of this study, HYDATID CYST is the most prevalent parasitic infection in the respiratory system of cattle which, in addition to the numerous respiratory damages it causes, affects on animal’s growth in qualitative and quantitative ways. Therefore, it can be concluded that cautious healthcare policies based on livestock pharmacotherapy and antiparasitic plans can improve the conditions.
