Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of different parameters on dimensions of scour hole Downstream of a FLIP BUCKET, extensive experiments were conducted. Effect of parameters like: RADIUS OF BUCKET, drop height, tail water depth and unit discharge have been investigated. It was observed that dimensions of scour hole is a function of RADIUS OF BUCKET, drop height, tail water depth and unit discharge. Dimensionless equations for prediction of scour hole dimensions are introduced.
