Title

Effects of commercial synbiotic Biomin® IMBO on growth performance, some biochemical parameters and skin mucosal immunity in crucian carp (Carassius carassius)

Abstract

 In this study, the effects of commercial Synbiotic Biomin® IMBO at 1 and 5 g kg-1 incorporated in control diet on Growth performance, some biochemical parameters and skin mucosal immunity was investigated in Crucian carp (Carassius carassius). Fish (8. 03 ± 0. 36 g) were randomly distributed among nine aquaria with 12 fish per each aquarium and fed different diets for 45 days. With 5 g kg-1Synbiotic, the Growth rate increased significantly in comparison with the control group (P < 0. 05). When fish administrated with both treatment diets the glucose and cholesterol levels in fish serum significantly decreased in comparison with the control group (P < 0. 05). Similarly, lysozyme and protease activities in fish skin mucus of both treatment groups increased significantly compared to the control group (P < 0. 05). Based on the current results, supplementation of Synbiotic Biomin® IMBO, especially at 5 g kg-1 can significantly enhance the Growth performance, some biochemical parameters, and skin mucosal immunity in Crucian carp.
