Abstract

The historical complex of "Belgias" which includes Adobe structures, has an area of 180 hectares and is located 3 kilometers of Esfarayan in the province of North Khorasan of Iran. The role of soil quality in the occurrence of damages to clay and Adobe structures of Belqis area is the purpose of this research. Choosing the right soil is the first step for preparing Adobe, Therefore, it is necessary to examine the role of soil. The collected samples were analyzed by using physical, chemical and mineralogical studies. The finegrained soil texture full of sand, silt with reduction of clay along with the destructive phases of Muscovite and Calcite in samples, in accordance with soil studies of the region were determined as the chemical parameters of soil in process of damages caused by descending humidity.
