Abstract

Aim: This study aimed to determine the mediating role of the Inhibition-behavioral Activation system in the relationship between childhood Abuse experience with Social Anxiety symptoms and Generalized Anxiety disorder in adults. Method: The aim of this study was basic in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of the data collection method. Harassment, Behavioral Inhibition / Activation System, Social Anxiety and Pervasive Anxiety. Correlation coefficients and path analysis were used to analyze the data. Results: The results of correlation showed a significant relationship between childhood Abuse experience with behavioral Activation, behavioral Inhibition, Generalized Anxiety, and Social Anxiety. Also, the evaluation of the structural model using statistical indicators showed that the experience of coefficient Abuse has a significant direct effect on Social Anxiety disorder and Generalized Anxiety disorder through Activation and behavioral Inhibition. The findings supported the appropriate fit of the hypothetical structure between the research variables. Conclusion: Behavioral Activation and Inhibition can play a significant mediating role between childhood Abuse and Social Anxiety disorder and Generalized Anxiety disorder in adulthood.
