Abstract

The path of economic growth theories, especially the introduction of endogenous growth theories, shows that economic systems to achieve long-term economic growth goals need to crystallize the stimulus and improve the endogenous components that evolve within these systems. Thus, today, the study of how to innovate in different economic systems has become a challenging issue in the world’ s economic circles. Therefore, it is expected that the creation of an appropriate system of urban innovation according to the specific conditions of each City, will enable the transformation of deep socio-economic challenges into valuable development opportunities. Although theoretical studies and empirical evidences conducted by researchers in this field offer different angles and perspectives, but still there is a gap in a coherent model of Urban Innovation System (UIS) that can meet different urban needs. Therefore, this study uses the Meta-Synthesis method to design and model the Urban Innovation System. The results of this study indicate that innovative governance, innovative economy, innovative citizens, innovative lifestyle and innovative environment, as a circular system with interactive and dynamic communication, are the basic components of an Urban Innovation System.
