Determination of the Relationship between Impact Sensitivity and Electrostatic Sensitivity of Nitro Energetic Compounds through Multiple Linear Regression Method

Abstract

 In this study the relationship between Impact Sensitivity and Electrostatic Sensitivity of Energetic Nitro Compounds is investigated. Furthuremore, the most important molecular descriptors which affect this correlation are studied. The results showed that the ratio of number of the oxygen atoms to hydrogen atoms       , and the number of amino groups(NH2) have important roles in the proposed model. The coefficient of the new correlation is determined to be 0. 99. Also, the root mean square deviation (RMSD) and the average absolute deviation (AAD) are 2. 79 and 2. 09 J, respectively. Currently exact mechanism of initiation of energetic materials against external stimuli is not well realized. In this paper, we investigated the relationship between Impact Sensitivity and Electrostatic Sensitivity of Nitro Energetic Compounds to recognize the effect of structural factors in the development of this sensitivity using Multiple Linear Regression Method. The proposed model can also be applied for the design of novel Energetic Nitro Compounds.
