Title

A REVIEW ON MUSIC OF ANCIENT TIMES

Pages

  76-78

Abstract

The Aryan Tribes settled in Iranian Plateau in 8. BC. Most of them chose India as their residence area. In that era, music was not yet an independent art and was mostly used in religious ceremonies, rituals and feasts. There was a kind of non-religious music as practiced in the Achaemians' court, which was mostly used in battlefields, having its instruments such as drum and oboe. The gypsy or Cavalier music is discussed then and an account is given on them in the paper.
