Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the prevalence of canine parvovius infection in diarrheic DOGS. In an eight-months period, blood and fecal samples were collected from 32 DOGS presented to the Veterinary Clinic of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Shiraz University, Iran, for gasteroenritis signs including DIARRHEA and vomiting. Diagnosis of disease was based on fecal sample testing by diagnostic kit. Twenty one (66%) out of 32 samples were positive for PARVOVIRUS antigen. Hemorrhagic DIARRHEA was observed in eight cases (38%) of the positive samples and in only two cases (18.2%) of negative samples.
