Given the basic human needs in various social, emotional, intelligence and physical dimensions, the present learning environment is far from reaching the living and active space to encounter, experience, etc. Different studies indicate that the sense of community has the greatest impact on the individual participation in the environmental performance. The sense of community is multidimensional. According to the available literature, the five-dimensional model, consisting of the richness of place, social ties and interaction, collective activity, security and sense of belonging, and identity, is considered as one of the most effective criteria for estimating the sense of community. To assess the theoretical model, three schools were selected from high schools of Tehran City, and appropriate questionnaires were distributed among them. The research sample included 750 individuals who were selected using a multistage cluster sampling method. The results indicated that the content analysis method was used for classification of views in theoretical section; and the case study method was applied for conducting the research. The research method was a factor analysis, The factor loading of each measure determined in the theoretical model, and ultimately, 11 final solutions were explained for designing the educational space.
