Abstract: 

2Background and Objectives: Atmospheric condition is one of the most important natural hazards for floating units. One of the shortcomings related to the weather situation is the lack of attention of the watch officers to the correct collection of weather data through the devices in the command bridge. For example, air pressure is read without instrument and altitude corrections and is never compared to a long-term average. Therefore, the aim of this research is to build a system on floating units that can automatically measure the atmospheric parameters and by calculating the required parameters from the measured parameters and comparing with the long-term average data, it can identify the atmospheric anomaly and as a result, make the right decisions regarding the appropriate maneuvers. Methods: In this research, using existing sensors, a meteorological device has been built that can collect atmospheric data from the environment and store it in the computer, and by using a computer program, it can compare the measured data with the long-term average and detect atmospheric and oceanic anomalies. to identify By identifying the atmospheric anomaly, the phenomenon related to this anomaly is also identified, and the guard officer can have an appropriate maneuver related to the identified phenomenon. Finally, in this research, the way the device works has been evaluated using numerical tests. In this numerical experiment, a floating unit moves from the origin of Bandar Abbas in such a way that it collides with cyclone Gonu along the way and the measured pressure is compared with the average pressure of 40 years. Findings: The first point along the track to experience a pressure drop of 3 hPa compared to the 40-year average is at approximately 135° ˚ and 120 miles from the storm's center. In fact, the distance of 120 miles from the center of the storm is a close distance, and in this case, the pressure has decreased by only 3 hectopascals compared to the 40-year average. The first point where the pressure has reached 5 hPa below the 40-year average is when the center of the storm is southeast and about 50 miles from the center of the storm. Therefore, it can be seen that the floating unit is very close to the storm and in this case it experienced only 5 hectopascal pressure drop. Conclusion: The results show that a pressure drop of 5 millibars is a suitable criterion to definitively prove that the floating unit is in a tropical storm, and of course, due to the extreme proximity of the floating unit to the center of the storm in this case, a pressure drop of 1 hectopascal is suggested as a warning.

Abstract: 

History and Objectives: Light's criteria in which serum and pleural LDH activity and protein levies are the most common variables to differentiate exudative from transudative pleural effusion, for the past 3 decades. Several other biochemical parameters have been suggested, one of which is serum pleural effusion albumin gradient (> 1.2: transudate, < 1.2: exudate). The present study was performed to assess diagnostic value serum and pleural gradiant in the patient with pleural effusion. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was carried out on 76patients. In a sitting position, pleural fluid aspiration was obtained and albumin, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), protein levels and at the same time blood total protein, LDH and albumin was obtained, on the basis of Light's criteria, pleural fluid is categorized as exudate or transudate. 76 patients presented with pleural effusion referred to the Shahid Beheshti Hospital (Kashan) were studied according to the Light's critria and gradient method. Results: According to Light's criteria, 41 patients (54%) had transudateand 35 patients (46%). had exudate. These measures were 59% and 41% respectively in gradient method. Thus discrepancy was noted in 6 cases, labeled exudate according to Light's criteria however transudate according to gradient method. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value were 82.9%, 95% 93.5% and 86.6% respectively for gradient method. Conclusions: Sensitivity of Light criteria is higher than albumin gradient, but the gradient method has a higher specificity for patients who are clinically suspect of transudate but labeled exudate according to Light's criteria, albumin gradient is helpful.

در ناحیه اطراف چابهار حدود 10 گل فشان وجود دارد که از این مجموعه 4 گل فشان مورد مطالعه قرار گرفته است. گل فشانها گازهای پرفشار در حال فورانی هستند که همراه آب، گل، خرده سنگ ها و گاهی اوقات نفت مایع از مجاری که به سطح زمین راه پیدا کرده اند، خارج می شوند. معمولا گل فشان ها در مناطقی گسترش می یابند که طبقات زیرزمینی از رسوبات تخریبی کم مقاومت و بهم ناپیوسته مثل سیلت و رس تشکیل شده باشند. این قبیل رسوبات در ناحیه مطالعاتی که بخشی از زون مکران محسوب می شود گسترش زیادی دارند. گل فشان ها می توانند در مطالعات اکتشافی بعنوان راهنما و دال بر وجود مخازن نفت و گاز محسوب شوند. سیالاتی که از زیرزمین نشات می گیرند، می توانند مواد معدنی را در خود حل کرده و در جاهای مناسب ته نشین نمایند و ذخایر معدنی مهمی را بوجود آورند. با توجه به موارد فوق و جهت شناسایی چگونگی تشکیل این گل فشان ها و کاربردهای آن مطالعاتی مقدماتی در دستور کار قرار گرفت. در فاز مطالعاتی انجام این پژوهش، ضمن مطالعه منابع و مراجع موجود در ارتباط با گل فشان ها، زمین شناسی ناحیه مورد مطالعه نیز مورد بررسی اجمالی قرار گرفت. سپس در فاز اجرایی ضمن بازدید صحرایی از چهار گل فشان نافک، عین، بربرک و سندمیرثوبان نمونه برداری های لازم انجام شد که سه نمونه جهت آنالیزهای عنصری و کانی شناسی به آزمایشگاه ارسال شد. در فاز نهایی مطالعه، با جمع بندی مطالعات دفتری و صحرایی و بررسی داده های ژئوشیمایی منشا چگونگی تشکیل این گل فشان ها مورد بررسی قرار گرفت.بنظر می رسد فرورانش پوسته اقیانوسی عمان به زیر پوسته قاره ای مکران عامل اصلی خروج گاز بهمراه آب و گل از زیرزمین بطرف سطح و برونزد تشکیلات گلی بصورت گل فشان باشد. این گل فشان ها فاقد مواد معدنی مهم بوده لیکن در محدوده مورد مطالعه می توان نسبت به اکتشاف و پی جویی مواد معدنی از قبیل وانادیوم، گالیوم و نیز روبیدیوم امیدوار بود.

Abstract: 

A 35 years old man was admitted to the emergency room because of confusion and fever. He complained of fever, chills and painful swollen right calf muscle from 30 days ago. The only important past medical history was polyuria, polydipsia and nocturia from many months. The tempreture was 40 degrees centigrde, pulse rate 115/min, respiratory rate 24/min and blood pressure was 150.80 mmHg on admission.Examination revealed a chronically-ill man with right calf edema and tenderness but without erythema and warmth.Laboratory findings include: WBC 14500 with 86% P.M.N., FBS=390 mg/dl, CPK=2500 IU/dl, LDH=2675 IU/dl. Sonography revealed viscouse fluid collection within right calf and right deltoid muscles. Blood cultures were positive for staph. Aureus. Percutaneous aspirations from calf were negative. The patient was treated with surgical drainage and intravenous antibiotic therapy.Surgical drainage yeild 1500cc of purulent fluid. He was discharged with no complains 2 weeks later.
