Abstract:

2Artificial intelligence tools such as GBT Chat have sparked many discussions among academics; While some see them as a useful tool to speed up research and others see it as a threat to the integrity of authorship. Like it or not, large language models (LLM) are taking over the scientific literature in both good and bad ways. These irreplaceable free tools to use are and will be a reality, and it's up to us how we accept them and work with them. The biggest concern today in using artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT is the lack of accuracy and the presentation of false information in such a way that the text may seem acceptable at first, but upon closer examination, it can be found that it contains false information; In addition, when the article is sent to a journal, the editors and reviewers will not have time to check the correctness of the article phrase by phrase and reference by reference. If scientific articles written with artificial intelligence tools are not properly reviewed, there is a high risk of providing false information; Especially among writers who do not specialize in this topic. Misuse of AI is a problem that can be solved by adjusting training methods. It is very important to develop curricula and educate university students about the ethical concepts of artificial intelligence, as well as train experts in the field of ethical issues of artificial intelligence to solve this problem. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, educational methods should be adjusted to combat abuse, and ethical considerations and responsibility in the use of this tool should be prioritized. We need to educate researchers about the pros and cons of this growing technology and focus on writing scientific papers that show the pros and cons of using them. Also, in order to combat the misuse of artificial intelligence, we need to involve all policymakers and users in a joint effort to create ethical frameworks and guidelines. In this context, we must create a multidisciplinary approach that involves experts in the fields of health information management, health policymaking, medical journalism, medical education, and ethicists in the development of curricula. Only through a joint effort can we ensure the responsible use of AI technology. By educating university students on ethical considerations and responsibility in the use of artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, developing relevant curricula and providing guidelines on the correct use approach, we hope to provide an environment so that such tools do not become a tool of false information and with Human expertise and judgment should be used.

Dear Editor, Over the decades, advancements in technological fields have greatly reshaped the drug development process in pharmaceutical companies. This drive in drug development process is due to an increase in computed generated prediction models and pre-screening of new chemical entities.1 In recent years, artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT has made its new entry, attracting many biopharmaceutical scientists, globally. ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI that is trained on a vast corpus of text data. It has been used in a variety of applications, including natural language processing, language translation, and text generation. One of the most promising applications of ChatGPT in the field of drug discovery is its ability to generate new chemical compounds. This is done by training the model on a dataset of known compounds and their properties.2 Once trained, the model can generate new chemical compounds that are similar to the compounds in the dataset. This can be useful in the drug discovery process as it can help to identify new compounds that have the potential to be developed into drugs. Another application of ChatGPT in drug discovery is its ability to predict the properties of new compounds. By training the model on a dataset of known compounds and their properties, it can predict the properties of new compounds that it has never seen before.2 This can be useful in the drug discovery process as it can help to identify compounds that have the potential to be developed into drugs

Abstract:

Purpose: Academic and other researchers have limited tools with which to address the current proliferation of predatory and hijacked journals. These journals can have negative effects on science, research funding, and the dissemination of information. As most predatory and hijacked journals are not error free, this study used ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology tool, to conduct an evaluation of journal quality. Methods: Predatory and hijacked journals were analyzed for reliability using ChatGPT, and the reliability of result have been discussed. Results: It shows that ChatGPT is an unreliable tool for journal quality evaluation for both hijacked and predatory journals. Conclusion: To show how to address this gap, an early trial version of Journal Checker Chatbot has been developed and is discussed as an alternative chatbot that can assist researchers in detecting hijacked journals.

Abstract:

Chat generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) is a large language model (LLM) artificial intelligence (AI). Indeed, ChatGPT is a chatbot able to participate in a conversation by pretending to be a human. ChatGPT is able to write convincing academic texts which are hard to be distinguished from a human-written manuscript. In the medical context, ChatGPT demonstrated its ability to write abstracts and texts related to the given questions. It could answer medical questions whether they are asked by students or researchers. ChatGPT is able to enhance the knowledge of students by designing tests and answering personalized questions, consequently reducing the burden on teachers. This AI system can participate in healthcare programs by providing information for patients and acting as the connector between patients and healthcare providers. Also, it could serve as a translator and a text generator for patients who speak a different language or those who have speech difficulties. ChatGPT is also able to provide and categorize medical information necessary for healthcare providers and physicians. Nonetheless, the major concern is the level of reliability of generated data. In some cases, ChatGPT produced misleading information and fake citations which warned medical researchers. Worryingly, these false data could distract the process of treatments and or the projects of medical researchers. Regarding the inevitable necessity of AI utilization in the medical field, strict criteria should be enforced in order to improve the efficacy and reduce the safety of the application of any AI chatbot like ChatGPT.

Faculties can create automatic grading and feedback to students. 4 You can ask questions about specific ideas, and it can help to generate brainstorming creative ideas. Furthermore, it can write essays, home works for the medical students. Next area is writing research papers, AIs can generate the draft of manuscripts by accessing to mega data. ChatGPT listed as author on research papers. Its legitimate application in article preparation has led to being cited as co-author on papers including at least two PubMed indexed articles. 5, 6 Despite meteoric rise of new AIs and ChatGPT, improper use and other challenges facing these technologies in medicine. 6 ChatGPT is not connected to the internet to provide current facts and literature. Instead, it programmed to find best words and texts to answer the questions. ChatGPT in its current status is “, multilingual but monocultural”,because it has learned from English language data (mainly US based) and is unable to reflect all cultures. 7 Another concern is access to sensitive medical information that might raise patient privacy concerns. Furthermore, it is not guaranteed that the data on which these types of AIs trained was unbiased. Any bias can lead to wrong clinical decision making. 8 Authorship is an important challenge for AIs. Springer Nature, the world`s largest academic publisher, has announced that AIs like ChatGPT are not eligible to be author of academic papers. 9 There are two main policies regarding authorship positions, the first one following ICMJE recommendations 10 and the second is the Nature criteria 11 which ChatGPT does not meet part of the necessary criteria. In the near future these tools will be widely adopted in the medical field with no doubt. It is critical to modify regulations of scientific writing and provide new control mechanisms to identify any unethical utilization of ChatGPT and upcoming tools in medicine.
