Introduction: Some personality traits and characteristics are "subclinical threshold" that their intensity in an individual is not as much as clinical personality disorders but they can cause various abnormalities. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship and role of immature defense mechanisms in predicting the dark triad personality traits. Method: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was conducted on the population of individuals referring to vaccination centers in Sanandaj city in 2020-2021. Out of these individuals, 282 were selected as the sample population. The research instruments were the Andrews' Defense Styles Questionnaire (1993) and Paulhus's Short Dark Tetrad (2021). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation, structural equation modeling, and stepwise regression analysis with SPSS version 23 and Amos version 26 software. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between immature defense mechanisms and the dark triad personality traits (P≤, 0. 05). Moreover, the structural model results showed that immature defense mechanisms explained 81% of the dark traits. According to the regression results, splitting (β, =0. 271, P≤, 0. 01), denial (β, =0. 168, P≤, 0. 01), and omnipotence (β, =0. 142, P≤, 0. 05) were better predictors of dark triad personality traits than other defense mechanisms. Conclusion: The use of immature defense mechanisms can predict dark personality traits. By recognizing the impact of defense mechanisms on personality traits and emphasizing psychological training and helping them become self-aware, it can be expected that dark personality traits will also decrease.

Objective The present study is aimed to test the fit model of the structural relationship between the dark triad and addiction potentiality. Methodology This is a descriptive-correlation and structural equations modeling design. The study population is all students of Urmia University in the academic year 2017-2018. 320 students were selected using random clustering sampling method and were analyzed using Johnson and Webster’ s (2010) Dark Triad trait (DT) Questionnaire and Addiction Potential Scale developed by Zeinali (2014). Results It was found that there was a positive association between the dark triad and addiction potentiality. The highest correlation was observed between Machiavellianism and narcissism. Also, the structural equations modeling showed that there was a good fit between the structural relationship between the dark triad traits and addiction potentiality. Conclusion The dark triad trait is associated with addiction potentiality and can influence it.

The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate the educational program of parent-adolescent relationship based on the dark triangle of military parent personality traits and the parent-child relationship on the dark triangle of parent personality. The study sample consisted of 30 employees working in the Army Ground Aviation Training Center in Isfahan in 2020 had problems related to the dark personality triad who had a teenage son and by purposeful sampling method 30 parents and their adolescent children were chosen. To identify the dark triple parent of personality, the Machiavellian Personality Questionnaire (Christie and Jace, 1970), the narcissistic personality (Ruskin and Terry, 1988) and the psychopathic personality (Levinson et al., 1995) were distributed among 450 parents and 30 had scores. The above were selected, then 30 semi-structured interviews were conducted with 30 of their teenage sons. Among the selected parents, 15 were randomly assigned to the experimental group and 15 to the control group. After extracting the three main components of emotions, mixing and communication from the interviews and relying on the dark triple feature of the parent personality, the educational package of the parent-adolescent relationship was designed and performed on the experimental group in 16 sessions of 90 minutes. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the designed educational package is effective on Machiavellianism, anti-socialism and narcissism of the military parent (p <0. 05. ).

Objective Given the prevalence of addiction and its adverse consequences in society, there is a need to conduct research to identify the effective factors on addiction. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of schema modes and dark triad traits of personality in addiction potential. Method A sample of 120 juvenile offenders convicted in Ardabil prisons in 2017 was selected by convenience sampling method. The subjects were analyzed by Schema Modes Questionnaire and dark triad traits of personality questionnaires and Addiction Potential Scale. Results The results showed that the factors of schema modes, antisocial personality, narcissistic personality and machiavellianismhad the highest effect on addiction potential with 0. 478, 0. 442,-0. 353 and 0. 331, respectively. This impact is positive for schema modes, antisocial personality, and Machiavellianism, and negative for narcissistic personality factors. Conclusion Although schema mode components and dark triad personality traits have an effect on addiction potential, but considering the impact coefficient, dark triad traits of personality have a prominent role in addiction potential.

Objective: The present study aimed to examine the role of belief in a just world and the dark triad personality traits in predicting driving behavior. Methods and Materials: The research design was correlational based on regression analysis, and the method of data collection was survey-based. The statistical population consisted of all drivers in the city of Shiraz in the year 2024. From this population, a purposive sample of 209 individuals was selected. Participants completed the Manchester Driving Behavior Questionnaire (MDBQ), the Dark Triad Personality Scale (DTPS), and the Belief in a Just World Questionnaire (BFWQ). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 at a significance level of 0. 05. Findings: The findings indicated that Machiavellianism (β = 0. 234, p =. 001), psychopathy (β = 0. 176, p =. 013), and narcissism (β = 0. 166, p =. 013) were significant and positive predictors of driving behavior. Collectively, the dark triad personality traits explained 18. 40% of the variance in driving behavior. In contrast, belief in a just world was not significantly correlated with driving behavior (p >. 05). Conclusion: Overall, the results of this study demonstrated that the dark triad personality traits play a significant role in explaining driving behavior, emphasizing the importance of individual differences and personality traits in shaping driving actions. In light of these findings, the role of belief in a just world appeared to be less influential than expected in reducing problematic driving behavior, suggesting the presence of other dominant factors in this phenomenon.

Purpose: The aim of present study was to examining the psychometric properties of the Iranian version of Short Dark Triad (SD3) in students.Methodology: The study sample consisted of Bu-Ali Sina University students in 2015-2016. 376 students were selected based on multi-stage cluster sampling. To study psychometric characteristics of the scale, Dark Triad scale was translated with doubletranslation technique and finally, to evaluate the psychometric properties of the scale, it was administered along with Millon clinical Multiaxial inventory (MCMI), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS) and Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI-16). Collected data was analyzed and reliability, validity indicators and confirmatory factor analysis were calculated.Findings: Analysis of the collected data showed that the scale has the reliability of 0.65 to 0.82 alpha coefficients in three subscales, In addition, the concurrent validity of the scale with subscales of psychopathy, narcissism Machiavellianism Millon clinical Multiaxial inventory (MCMI), Attentional impulsiveness, Motor impulsiveness and Non-planning of Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS) and Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI-16) was equal to 0.21, 0.31, 0.52, 0.33, 0.18 and 0.37 respectively. Moreover, the results of confirmatory factor analysis supported the factor structure of the questionnaire. Short Dark Triad (SD3) has favored psychometric properties in Iranian students.

Objective The aim of this study was to compare the emotional failure and Dark Triad (DT) in women with and without addiction. Method The research method was causal-comparative. The sample consisted of 120 women (60 with addiction potentiality and 60 with no addiction) who were selected from among women between 18 and 45 years old in Ardabil city using available sampling method. The research instrument was Ross emotional failure Inventory (1999) and Johnson and Webster’ s Dark Triad (DT) Questionnaire (2010). Results The results showed that there was a difference between emotional failure and Dark Triad (DT) among women with and without addiction. Emotional failure and Dark Triad (DT) characteristics in women with addiction tend to be higher than women without addiction. Conclusion It can be said that women with addiction tendency, experience more emotional failure and Dark Triad (DT) characteristic.

Based on an hypothetical structural model of the relationship between personality, organizational indifference, and occupational enthusiasm an accessible group of 239 personnel working at the offices of the provincial department of education in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari was given three scales and one questionnaire of assumed validity and reliability, to measure originality of personality, triad of dark personality, occupational enthusiasm, and organizational indifference. Analysis of the collected data revealed that originality of personality is both positively and significantly correlated with occupational enthusiasm while this correlation with organizational indifference is negative and significant, while the triad of dark personality is the other way around. The structural model can predict organizational indifference through personalities mediated by occupational enthusiasm. Observed goodness of fit render the model a useful tool for determining organizational indifference among the personnel.

Aims Sex addiction is one of the hidden problems that due to the young population of the country, difficult marriage for the young generation and some personality and mental disorders in recent years, more attention has been paid to it and its taboo state as in previous years. is not. In the present study, the relationship between dark personality triads and sexual addiction in female students in Mashhad was investigated. Instrument & Method Present descriptive study includes all female students in Mashhad who due to the prevalence of coronary heart disease using the available sampling method, the dark three personality questionnaires as well as the SAST-T sexual addiction questionnaire. It should be noted that due to the prevalence of the corona pandemic, the questionnaires were provided to the subjects through cyberspace (Telegram, WhatsApp, and email). Findings The results of this study show that there is a 0. 37 relationship between sexual addiction and Machiavellianism, which is a low level according to Cohen’ s classification, but 0. 87 between sexual addiction and anti-socialism and between sexual addiction and narcissism 0. 69 there is a relationship that is strong at the Cohen classification level. Conclusions According to the obtained data, it can be inferred that there is no significant relationship between sexual addiction and Machiavellianism. But there is a significant positive relationship between sexual addiction and anti-socialism as well as between sexual addiction and narcissism.
