Abstract: 

Designing stealth technologies for modern vessels requires methods for infrared signature reduction. First these signatures should be modeled. In this paper a method to calculate the infrared signatures of a naval vessel is presented. The thermal analysis allows evaluating the temperature distribution on investigated objects showing which parts tend to be warmer. Also, we want to specify the primary sources of IR emissions on the vessel and discuss modeling steps of IR signature .The use of computer models allow to measure effects of many factors including solar heating, reflection and sea surface clutter. The methodology involves a multi-step process. First the infrared signatures of the ship characterized using a graphical tool and finally we evaluated the infrared emission. Field measurements were done after theoretical analysis and thermal camera is used in this step. Experiments are conducted in selected conditions taking into account solar radiation and radiation reflected from elements of the surrounding environment.

Abstract: 

As cyber threats grow increasingly sophisticated, the importance of security training as an effective means of prevention will become even more critical. Cyber Range (CR) is a platform for creating cyber training programs using virtualization and simulation technologies to create a realistic training environment. The main challenge for utilizing a CR is the specialized human resources required to design and maintain training sessions. To tackle this challenge, several high-level languages, known as Scenario Description Languages (SDLs), have been developed to enable the specification of training environments as models. These models can then be automatically transformed into deployment artifacts. Our studies showed that the existing SDLs could not address requirements when designing complex scenarios where multiple trainees should collaborate to reach a desired goal through various acceptable solutions. We present the Collaborative Security Training SDL (CST-SDL) for creating multi-trainee and multi-solution scenarios. CST-SDL uses an acyclic directional graph for specifying the scenario's solution routes and allows defining trainees with unique tasks, goals, and solution routes during the training session. To evaluate the CST-SDL's capabilities, we have implemented and integrated it into the KYPO cyber range.

Abstract: 

Nowadays utilization of hydroelectric power as renewable energy source is developed in the world.Using very low head axial turbines in rivers is one of the ways to obtain this energy. In this research, design and optimization of an axial hydraulic turbine with very low head (2.9m) was done. The first step in the optimization of turbine is generation of a suitable initial geometry. For this purpose one dimensional design approach based on Euler law was used. Development of computation algorithms is very efficient and suitable in hydraulic turbine design and performance investigation. In this research mesh was generated with mesh-ANSYS software and then the default domain was simulated by solving the 3-D Navier Stokes equations through the runner passages in the CFX software. Optimized geometry is obtained by optimization of Drag to Lift coefficient ratio for different blade midspans. For parameterization of airfoils, the “CST” method and for extraction of flow characteristics of airfoils XFOIL software were utilized. Then airfoil coefficients were corrected using fminsearch algorithm in MATLAB software to minimize the Drag to Lift ratio. The results show that the efficiency in design point is increased by 2.4%.

Abstract: 

Background: The application of radar systems in telecommunications and aerospace science is important. However, engineering department’, s staff various tissues are always under chronic radiation generated by the radar fields which may affect health. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the risk of radar wave exposure and to explore the effects and limitations. Material and Methods: In this simulation study, an adult body model versus 1 watt source with a distance of 50 centimeters exposure has been simulated using the CST STUDIO SUITE. Furthermore, various physical and electrical properties of each tissue and organ for different frequencies and exposure times have been studied. The exposure dose limitations have been considered using the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) safety and health guide report. Results: Total body absorbed doses for 4 GHz, 8 GHz, and 12 GHz frequency, and 6 min, 4 h, and 30 days exposure time, have been calculated as 1. 136×10-5, 1. 598×10-5, 1. 58×10-3, 1. 521×10-5, 3. 122×10-5, 4. 52×10-3, 4. 1×10-5, 10-4, and 10-2, respectively. Conclusion: It has shown that the internal organs of the body and head will be under more risk by reducing radar frequencies from 12 GHz to 4 GHz. On the other hand, the higher frequency can cause a higher risk to the human skin. In addition, the maximum Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for each case has been calculated. The results show that for this normalized source, the safety criteria have been respected, but for a higher source, the calculations must be repeated.

Abstract: 

This research seeks to present a new model of influencing factors on formation spatial structure of middle class housing in Tehran by using the complex systems theory paradigm. Understanding of changes in spatial structure of housing due to transformations of internal and external factors at design time has provided necessary background for this research. The research has been done with a practical-developmental purpose and descriptive-analytical method. Data has been collected in a combined (qualitative and quantitative) manner. In this research, layered models have been presented by review of complex systems paradigm concepts and matching it with housing spatial structure factors. Spatial structure models consist of three main factors: design dimensions, rules and regulations and building elements. The components of rules and regulations have been identified by review of documents content and library studies, components of spatial structure design dimensions have also been expressed accordance with theoretical foundations of sustainable development and design. Importance of design dimensions has been measured by asking experts in field of housing design by using fuzzy hierarchical analysis method. Analysis show that priority and importance each of design dimensions: environmental/ climate, cultural/ social and economic/ technological are variable in each housing spatial structure. The results of research show that change of any spatial structure under influence of internal and external transformations in different locations causes change of all spatial structures. To achieve quality of residential spaces based on transformations, the model provides necessary data for planning and intelligently usage at the time of design.

Abstract: 

به منظور ایجاد باریکه الکترونی با کیفیت بالا و غیر واگرا و همچنین بررسی پارامترهایی که به کیفیت پرتو در طراحی تفنگ الکترونی گرمایونی کمک می کند، تفنگ الکترونی گرمایونی چند ده کیلو الکترون ولتی، با انجام محاسبات چگالی جریان باریکه الکترونی، شدت باریکه الکترونی، تعداد الکترون های خارج شده از تفنگ الکترونی با استفاده نرم افزار CST شبیه سازی و طراحی شده است. در نهایت باریکه الکترونی همگرا، با انرژی تقریبی 70 کیلو الکترون ولت از این تفنگ الکترونی گرمایونی قابل حصول است.

Abstract: 

Coaxial couplers with high input RF power, usually operated at 500 MHz, are one of the critical components used in accelerators. To withstand high RF power, the couplers should be tested first, under identical conditions in a test stand. A waveguide coupled to a coaxial cable is used for this purpose. The parameter that indicates the amount of returned power loss isS 11 which is reduced by optimizing the dimensions of the proposed model. MATLAB program has special and powerful tools to optimize the dimensions of models simulated in CST STUDIO SUITE. In this paper, the details and processes of how MATLAB can control CST are described using MATLAB. Then, the optimization of coaxial coupler coupling to 1800 waveguide with high input power is carried out.
