Abstract:

Background: Accidents are the second leading cause of death following cardiovascular disease in all age groups. Falls account for 40% of deaths worldwide. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate epidemiologically the victims of falls during a 6-year period by reviewing the medical records of the patients referring to Shahid Rajaee Hospital, Shiraz, Iran. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted by reviewing the medical records of 12, 133 patients admitted to the accident department of Shahid Rajaee hospital from 2009 to 2014. Demographic and other important data, such as age, gender, marital status, the severity of injuries, and survival or death, were collected. Then, the data were analyzed using chi-square test and logistic regression analysis. Results: Medical records of 12133 fall victims were investigated. The mean age of the patients was 44. 87 20. 91 years. The results of the multiple-regression model showed a significant relationship between death rate and age, injury severity, length of hospital stay, and injured body region in the fall victim (P < 0. 05). The multiple-regression model also indicated a significant relationship between fall-related death and gender, injury severity, the injured body region, and the length of hospital stay (P < 0. 05). Conclusions: The highest mortality rate was observed among fall patients aged over 55 years with a high Injury Severity Score (ISS). Therefore, appropriate strategies should be taken for these patients in order to reduce mortality.

Abstract:

There was a sharp difference between North African Christians and the rest of Ancient Roman territory in religious and socio-economic terms. African Christians regarded themselves more pure and faithful than other ones and economically were poorer than Romans. Christianity entered North Africa in the second century and the cities Numidia and Karthage became the most populated Christian districts. The Christians of Africa lived a coexistence life until the fourth century, when the Great Persecution took place. During the persecution some Christians to save their lives committed wrong doings and handed over Holy Scriptures to the Roman authorities and became known as Traditiores, but some others resisted and died martyr death. Finally the persecution ended during Constantine era and the Romans tolerated Christians. Meanwhile, some African Christians who later on became known as Donatists declared those who handed over Holy book during the Persecution have in fact lost the reliability of their baptism and should be re-baptized. This position pawed the way for the emergence of a sharp disagreement between Donatists and Catholics, and religious nonconformity gradually transformed to hostility and antagonism so that Africa became a battlefield between two Christian groups. We will try to explain the rise and fall of Donatism via historical-theological perspective.

Abstract:

Mystical writers and poets have taken an interpretive view of the Qur'an and hadith. From Attar's point of view, for example, Adam is adorned with his servitude and Iblis is the embodiment of divine hatred. Thus, one of the prominent themes in his works is the commentaries on "the creation of Adam and His descent from Heaven" and "The Devil's disobedient and his fall from highness. " In this research, we seek to find the answer to this question based on hermeneutic theory and through content description and analysis: What is the form, method, structure, and endowments of Attar from the fall of Adam and Iblis’ s driving out of divine court? In this study, we will see that he has interpreted these two issues in a prismatic and similar way, which undoubtedly reflects his particular view of the contrast between Adam and Iblis.

Abstract:

Background: More than 60% of fall incidents among older adults are multifactorial. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a multicomponent fall prevention intervention on fall prevalence, depression, and balance among nursing home residents. Methods: This pretest‑ posttest quasiexperimental study was conducted in 2014 on 160 residents of a nursing home in Tehran, Iran. A 4‑ month multicomponent fall prevention intervention was implemented with a 2‑ month follow‑ up. The intervention consisted of educations for nursing home residents and staff, environmental modifications, and stretching, strengthening, and balance‑ improving exercises for residents. A fall frequency form, the performance‑ oriented mobility assessment, the timed up and go test, the geriatric depression scale, the Katz index of independence in activities of daily living, and the mini‑ mental state examination test were used for data collection both before and 6 months after the intervention onset. Data analysis was done using the paired‑ sample t, independent‑ sample t, Wilcoxon signed‑ rank, Mann– Whitney U, and Kruskal– Wallis tests as well as the one‑ way analysis of variance. Results: The mean scores of fall frequency, mobility, balance, and depression among nursing home residents significantly changed from 2. 40 ± 0. 93, 17. 93 ± 4. 69 and 20. 77 ± 6. 91, and 10. 14 ± 6. 85 at pretest to 0. 20 ± 0. 55, 24. 53 ± 1. 78 and 14. 11 ± 3. 74, and 8. 23 ± 5. 17 at posttest, respectively. Conclusion: Multicomponent intervention is effective in significantly reducing fall prevalence and depression and improving balance and mobility among older adults. Nurses can use such interventions to enhance older adults’ mobility, improve their balance, relieve their depression, and reduce their risk of fall.

Abstract:

This paper aims to explain the fall of soul and its compatibility with physical creation of soul theory. Next to be discussed is the "treasures of God" theory. Finally, the issue amounts to the doctrine that the soul has a material evolution belonging to the body which nonetheless is compatible with its fall from the heavenly kingdom. This is because the fall of soul suggests its heavenly nature which is different from its physical nature. On the whole, all creatures, along with their physical nature, are of some heavenly nature. The former is considered as the tenuous form of the latter.

Abstract:

On May 21, 2020, the World Intellectual Property Organization unveiled WIPO PROOF; an unprecedented service aimed at safeguarding innovative achievements and providing secure evidence of intellectual creations in the digital sphere. A documentation service capable of securely verifying the existence of any intellectual creation or asset. In practice, this preliminary registration system not only had the ability to register all forms of intellectual property, but also covered some un-protectable (exceptional) forms of intellectual property, including ideas. However, considering that this method of protection was not supported by international, regional or national laws, a number of issues regarding the legal status and evidentiary value of the resulting documentation within national and international IP regimes became a subject of debate. In this research, by studying the structure, function and similar national mechanisms, we came to the conclusion that in order to improve and upgrade the protection provided by IP laws, we need to develop and synchronize with the needs the actors active in the field of innovation. As a result, services such as WIPO PROOF may be considered as an undeniable milestone for the development and improvement of the current intellectual property regimes.
