Abstract:

Fear of Iran and considering it as a threat are widely found among the Middle Eastern states as well as on the world scale. The author, in this paper, has explored the causes of this phenomenon and its repercussions for Iran's international status. The author argues that Iranophobia is derived from two categories of structural and non-structural factors. Strength, geographical proximity and aggressive power are among the structural causes of Iranophobia, whereas aggressive intentions and promotion of fear of Iran represent the non-structural causes of the phenomenon. According to the author, the repercussions of Iranophobia include the forging of a coalition with the United States at the pivot and the adoption of soft and hard balancing strategies for containing Iran.

Abstract:

With the occurrence of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Islamophobia has gained wide dimensions and is perceived as "Iranophobia". Before the widespread use of the concept of "Iranophobia", discussions of oriental studies, in general, raised a kind of Islamophobia in a different way. In addition to that, xenophobia and racism tendencies in the contemporary world have helped the development of this concept. The main goal of this article is to know the roots and foundations of Iranophobia based on the constructivist conceptual framework. Constructivism aims to put a finger on the identity of the states instead of emphasizing the ability of the states or the distribution of power as one of the structural features of the international system. Imaginations can affect identities, interests, and policies, and changing the direction from capabilities to identities is what governments can do to explain their position in the structure, so even though governments have basic capital such as self-help, security and They act according to national interests, but if they cooperate on the basis of principles, maybe their opinion about their identity and what kind of relationship they can have with the rest of the world and the international system will change. The main question of this research is what are the roots and foundations of Iranophobia? The main hypothesis from the point of view of this research deals with the category that the anti-Western political discourse after the Islamic Revolution of Iran has caused the formation of Iranophobia. The competing hypothesis of this research is that the Islamic Republic of Iran, by preserving its identity as an actor with a unique identity, is trying to deal with Iranophobia through cooperation and dialogue with the West.

Abstract:

In recent years, one of the most important events in the region is the issue of changing the foreign strategy of the Israeli regime by using various means against the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to the Israeli National Security Document in 2019 and 2020, Israel intends to launch an Iranophobia project in its new regional strategy, in addition to mobilizing the capacity of the West, led by the United States, to gain immediate support for the regime, especially the Gulf Arabs and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia will establish relations and, in addition to intensifying the anti-Iranian atmosphere in West Asia, bring with it the practical agreement and consent of the Arabs against the Islamic Republic of Iran. In fact, the key question in this article is what effect has the spread of Iranophobia had on Israel's new regional strategy? The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical. The results of this study confirm that Israel aims to spread Iranophobia due to fears of the Islamic Republic of Iran's influence in the Middle East, and in fact intends to use existing tools such as US support and start a friendship plan with Arab countries in order to work harder to advance the issue of Iranophobia.

Abstract:

Iranophobia constitutes a strategic project aimed at portraying Iran as a significant threat to both regional and global peace and security, thereby undermining and tarnishing Iran's image in regional and international public opinion. This article seeks to analyze and examine the Zionist regime's Iranophobic policy toward the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear program from a geopolitical perspective. To this end, following an examination of theoretical concepts and research findings, the objectives of the Zionist regime's Iranophobic policy regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's nuclear program have been analyzed. The research findings clearly demonstrate that the Zionist regime's adoption of Iranophobic policy sequentially serves the following objectives: (1) diverting global attention from the Zionist regime's ongoing territorial expansion in Palestine by exaggerating the nuclear Iran threat; (2) isolating the Islamic Republic of Iran as the key actor in the Resistance Axis to limit its geopolitical functions and reduce the sphere of influence of the Resistance Axis; (3) capitalizing on concerns about a nuclear Iran to disrupt the geopolitical balance of power in Southwest Asia; (4) persuading the United States and other UN Security Council members to pressure Iran on nuclear issues; (5) gaining concessions from the U.S. and Western countries to expand geopolitical territory; (6) obscuring its own military nuclear program; (7) utilizing nuclear Iranophobia as a tool in the Zionist regime's internal political competitions; and (8) fostering internal cohesion within Zionist regime society. The macro-approach of this research is grounded in constructivist theory, particularly focusing on the concept of 'identity.' By applying the identity framework from constructivist theory, it seeks to comprehend the 'Iranophobia' policy, especially 'nuclear Iranophobia,' from the Zionist regime's perspective. Data collection methods include both library research and field studies (questionnaires).

Abstract:

Iran’s Nuclear Program (INP) has attracted many eyes and thoughts. While much ink has been spilled on its evolution and its impact on the international security and the middle-eastern politics, it seems there has been a theoretical void in the explanation of this multi-dimensional crisis. Such an unfortunate poverty is no more obvious than in the framing INP by the media. In fact, the impacts of media on conflicts and crisis in general, and on INP in particular, has been recently devalued. Thus, a voyage of the connections of the media framing and INP has been so far intact. The present study is an attempt to give a historical narrative on how the media have framed the trajectory of INP. We will accomplish this mission by locating the impacts of media on INP within an examination of the larger historical context. In this framework, the proposed work will undertake tracing the history of the ebbs and flows within the media—i.e., CNN and Fox News— coverage of INP, explaining how media covered INP. On this reading, the present work is a historiography. It provides a theoretical plot to narrate a story, a story of the history of INP through the lens of media.

Abstract:

US foreign policy toward Iran after the Islamic Revolution has had an adversarial approach and has been under the influence of centers of power against the normalization of ties between the two countries. Pro-Israel lobbies, without doubt, play an important role in adversely affecting US-Iran relations. Yet, Arab lobbies supported by some countries in the Middle East try to intensify the hostility between the US and Iran. The main question this paper tries to answer is “ How Arab lobbies influence US foreign policy against Iran? ” It’ s assumed that portraying Iran’ s power to be destructive to Middle East stability in order to intensify Iran-phobia and influence US foreign policy against Iran is the strategy these lobbies pursue. Arab lobbies have partly succeeded in achieving their goals, but the development in the Middle East and the future of energy (especially oil) cause the long-term outlook of these lobbies to be unclear. Using descriptive-interpretive this paper tries to analyze the main components in Arab lobbying and the reasons for the weakening of their role based on current developments and strategic foresight.

Abstract:

This paper seeks for showing the conflict between the west discourse with the Islamic discourse using Discourse Analysis of Foucault in the greatest cultural industery of USA i.e. Hollywood Cinema. Due to this fact, we embark on the geneology analysis of Islamophibia and Iranophobia through Faoucault's discourse analysis and then we apply the aforementioned analysis in Gordan's 2010 Hollywood movie "Unthinkable", which is among the most robust cases for showing the alleged conflict. This movie represents the most apparet legal requests of Muslem nations in the form of a terrorist muslem who has placed 3 different atomic bomds in America. The analysis of this movie could be a good viewpoint towards what is nowadays assumed to be Iranophobia and Islamophobia in Western media.

Abstract:

A series of events such as the Islamic revolution of Iran, occupation of the US embassy in Tehran, hostage crisis, and Iran' s anti-American approach after 1979 resulted in the emergence of a phenomenon called Iran phobia in the West, especially in the US. Although it was assumed that the interaction with the West and conclusion of the nuclear deal in Rouhani's government would weaken the Iran phobia propaganda; but no considerable change was observed in practice and the aggressive approach of Donald Trump and his administration towards Tehran indicate the persistence of Iran phobia in the US foreign policy. The main question of the paper is related to the reasons, purposes, and implications of Iran phobia in the US foreign policy in post-JCPOA era. The main hypothesis of the study is that the role of new McCarthyism in the marketplace of ideas, state identity, and speech acts are considered as the most important reasons and symptoms of Iran phobia in post-JCPOA era. Preventing Iran's economic recovery and making a kind of behavior change of Iran toward some domestic and regional issues are its main objectives of this policy. Breaching the JCPOA and reproduction patterns of antagonism and hostility between two countries may be the most important implications of Iran phobia.
