Abstract:

High gain Balun-low-noise-amplifier (LNA) is proposed for tuner of digital televisions (DTVs). The proposed Balun-LNA is based on CS-CG (common-source-common-gate) structure. To improve the isolasion and frequency response, Balun-LNA has cascode transistors before load resistors. Balun-LNA uses current-bleeding circuit to increasie transconductance of CS transistor, so that current-bleeding transistor has transconductance of N-1 times larger than transconductance of cascode transistor. Thereby, transconductance and current of CS transistor are increased N times, as N-1 times of current pass to current-bleeding transistor. Therefore current of CG and CS stages stay identical. Also, Balun-LNA employs a positive feedback to satisfy input impedance matching and CG transistor has higher transconductance. By increasing transconductance of CS and CG transistors, the proposed Balun-LNA achieves to high voltage gain. Accordingly, CG and CS tansistors have symmetrical currents and loads at the differential output of the proposed Balun-LNA. Symmetrical loads cause the balanced differential outputs. This proposed Balun-LNA is designed in 90-nm CMOS technology and covers the frequency range of 40 MHz to 1GHz. This Balun-LNA achieves the voltage gain of 22.6 dB, S11 of less than -10 dB and the Minimum NF of 5 dB. This Balun-LNA operates at the nominal supply voltage of 2.2v.

Abstract:

A novel ultra-high compliance, low power, very accurate and high output impedance current output stage (COS) with extremely high output current drive capability is proposed in this paper. The principle of operation of this unique structure is discussed, its most important formulas are derived and its outstanding performance is verified by HSPICE simulation in TSMC 0.18mm CMOS, BSIM3, and Level49 technology. This deliberately composed structure utilizes a well combination (for a mutual auto control action) of negative and positive feedbacks to achieve ever demanded merits such as very low power of 150mW, ultra high ratio of 3000 for output current over the bias current (which is selected to be 0.5mA) at low THD of -20dB and very high output impedance of 5GWwith power supplies of ±0.5V when operating at class AB mode. Simulation results with ±0.5V power supply shows an absolute output voltage dynamic range of 0.9V which interestingly provides the highest yet reported output voltage compliance for Current mode building blocks implemented by regular CMOS technology. Full process, voltage, and temperature variation (PVT) analysis of the circuit is also investigated in order to approve the well robustness of the structure. The transient stepwise response is also done to verify the proposed COS stability.

Abstract:

The sources of output growth of Iranian agriculture over the years 1986-2001 has been examined, using a decomposition method within the input-output (IO) framework. The three comparable IO tables of 1986, 1991, and 2001 have been employed as the main data sources. Output changes from a demand side perspective, and decomposition of the growth of output into components attributable to consumption demand, investment demand, export, import substitution, as well as intermediate input use have been accounted for. Throughout the study, the economy of Iran has been divided into 20 sectors. Since the focus of the study is to identify the sources of output growth in agricultural sector, the sector is further divided into four sub-sectors with the relative prominence of sources of growth being determined for each of the sub-sectors. Results revealed that increase in intermediate input demand, increase in investment demand as well as increase in export for final goods are respectively, the main factors contributing to the output growth in farming, livestock, hunting and fishery, and forestry sectors over the 1986-91 period. As for 1991-2001 period, household demand for final products is the main source of output growth as regards the first three sectors. This factor in joint with government consumption explains the output growth in the forestry sector over the years 1991-2001. In addition, export expansion contributes to the growth of output in all the agricultural sub-sectors except for the livestock. In total, the share of contribution to output growth from intermediate demand has declined, while that from export and consumption increasing.

Abstract:

By applying conditional variance modeling and Granger causality test, we specified some important determinants of real and nominal uncertainty in Iran (1960-2006). In addition we investigated the negative effects of these uncertainties on output growth. Our results show that an increase in the rate of inflation and a decrease in the level of oil revenues can raise nominal uncertainty, while real uncertainty is arisen by oil revenues. This study could not reject the hypothesis that nominal and real uncertainty has no effect on output growth.

Abstract:

In this study, the Input-Output Structural Decomposition Analysis (I-O SDA) is used to investigate the effects of technological structure changes on changes of total output in Sistan and Baluchestan Province during 2006-2011. The technological structure change is decomposed into two factors: intermediate input structure changes (input substitution) and change in direct backward linkage. The results show that the effect of changes in direct backward linkage is negative in all sectors, but the effect of input substitution in twelve sectors is positive and in other nine sectors is negative. Input substitutions in "Agriculture" and "Transport" sectors have the main positive effect on total output of the region and in ''Food industries'' and ''Restaurants & Hotels'' have the main negative effect on total output. This factor caused 20. 89 billion Rials decrease in total output of region. Changes in direct backward linkage caused 8270. 89 billion Rials decrease in total output of the region.

Abstract:

The structure of production networks determines the macroeconomic responses to sectorial shocks. Accordingly, key sectors are instrumental in transmitting supply and demand-side shocks. This article applies the methodology proposed by Savoie (2017) and network theory and implements the input-output tables of the Central Bank of Iran in 1988, 1993, 1999, 2004, 2010, and 2016 to examine the output multipliers of Iran's economic sectors. This article also compares the results based on Savoie's (2017) method with the driven results according to Friedkin's (1991) and Monize et al. 's (2008) methodology. The latter identifies key sectors using three centrality measures: total effect, immediate effect, and mediate effect. The results show that the "industry", "water, electricity, gas", and the "transportation and inventory" sectors have always had the highest connections with other sectors, and also have had the highest output multiplier. Besides, the "industry" and the "ICT" sectors are detected as the key and the developing sectors in Iran's economy, respectively. In addition, based on Friedkin's (1991) and Monize et al. 's (2008) methodology, the "construction" and "other services" sectors can foster Iran's economic growth, even though based on Savoie's (2017) methodology, these sectors relatively had a lower output multiplier.

Abstract:

In physical input- output tables (PIOTS), the flows of products, instead of being expressed in monetary terms, are represented by physical measures (weight, time). Furthermore, these tables along with the traditional inter- industry transactions of monetary tables (MIOT), contain the flows between the economy and the natural environment. Thus, it is assumed that the use of natural resources by the economic system and return of the waste to the environment should be included in the process because the economy "depletes the environment beyond its regenerative capacity and pollutes it beyond its absorptive capacity." Traditional economics considers the economy as an isolated or closed system which is "a circular flow of exchange between firms and households in which neither matter nor energy enters or exits." It has no relation with its environment, while in fact it is an open subsystem of the earth's ecosystem. This standard vision is definitely useful for analyzing exchange, price formation, and income determination, but quite useless for studying the relation of the economy to the environment. The rationale behind material input- output tables, is based on the above observations. In this article after briefly examining this line of reasoning, the experience of two forerunning countries in the construction of material supply, use and input- output tables- Germany and Denmark- is presented. In explaining the subject, we have also benefited from several UN publications on System of Environmental Economic Accounting. In countries like Iran, with fragile environmental resources, this type of data and analysis, seems to be very promising.

Abstract:

This paper concerns the problem of output consensus in nonlinear non-minimum phase systems. The main contribution of the paper is to guarantee achieving consensus in the presence of unstable zero dynamics. To achieve this goal, an output redefinition method is proposed. The new outputs of agents are functions of original outputs and internal states and defined such that the dynamics of agents are minimum phase. However, since the main objective is to achieve consensus on original outputs of agents, the consensus invariant set in the new coordinate of the agents dynamics should be defined such that if the new states of the agents converge to this invariant set, the output consensus in original system is achieved. On the other words, achieving consensus in minimum phase system with redefined output is equivalent to output consensus in original system. After defining the proper invariant set, a consensus protocol is designed to guarantee that the redefined outputs and the internal states to this set. Theoretical results are mathematically proved based on Lyapunov criterion. Numerical examples are employed to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
