Abstract: 

Background: Analysis of aluminium (Al) in urine samples is required in management of a number of diseases including patients with renal failure. This work aimed to present dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) and ultrasound-assisted emulsification microextraction (USAEME) methods for the preconcentration of ultra-trace amount of aluminum in human urine prior to its determination by a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS).Methods: The microextraction methods were based on the complex formation of Al3+with 8-hydroxyquinoline. The effect of various experimental parameters on the efficiencies of the methods and their optimum values were studied.Results: Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection for USAEME-GFAAS and DLLME-GFAAS were 0.19 and 0.30 ng mL-1, respectively and corresponding relative standard deviations (RSD, n=5) for the determination of 40 ng mL-1 Al3+were 5.9% and 4.9%.Conclusion: Both methods could be successfully used to the analysis of ultra trace concentrations of Al in urine samples of dialysis patients.

Abstract: 

BACKGROUND: PHENYLEPHRINE HYDROCHLORIDE IS A SYMPATHOMIMETIC DRUG. IT CAN BE USED AS A NASAL DECONGESTANT. THE DRUGS IN BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES ARE TOO DILUTED AND THE MATRIX IN THIS MEDIUM IS TOO COMPLEX. THEREFORE, A SAMPLE PREPARATION STEP IS NECESSARY TO EXTRACT TRACE AMOUNT OF THESE DRUGS FROM THE BIOLOGICAL MEDIUM, BRING THE ANALYTES TO A SUITABLE CONCENTRATION LEVEL, AND REMOVE THEM FROM INTERFERING COMPONENTS IN THE MATRIX [1]. DISPERSIVE LIQUID-LIQUID MICROEXTRACTION (DLLME) WAS INTRODUCED BY REZAEE IN 2006. IN THIS METHOD EXTRACTION EQUILIBRIUM IS QUICKLY ACHIEVED, DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE SURFACE CONTACT BETWEEN THE DROPLETS OF THE EXTRACTION SOLVENT AND THE AQUEOUS SAMPLE. THEREFORE, THE EXTRACTION TIME IS VERY SHORT. DLLME HAS POTENTIAL ADVANTAGES WHICH INCLUDE THE SIMULTANEOUS EXTRACTION AND PRECONCENTRATION OF TARGET ANALYTE, COST EFFECTIVENESS, SIMPLICITY AND RAPIDITY OF OPERATION, LOW CONSUMPTION OF SOLVENT AND REAGENT, HIGH ENRICHMENT FACTOR AND ENVIRONMENTAL BENIGNITY [2].METHODS: IN THIS WORK, 5 ML OF STANDARD SOLUTION CONTAINING 50 MG L-1 (PH 5.0) OF PHENYLEPHRINE AND 0.6 MMOL L-1 OF SDS WAS POURED IN TO A CONICAL TUBE. THEN 50 ML OF 1-OCTANOL (EXTRACTION SOLVENT) WAS RAPIDLY INJECTED IN TO THE AQUEOUS SAMPLE BY SYRINGE. THE TUBE WAS IMMERSED IN TO AN ULTRASONIC BATH FOR 8 MIN AT 25OC. A CLOUDY SOLUTION WAS FORMED IN THE TEST TUBE, IN FACT PHENYLEPHRINE IN AQUEOUSE SAMPLE WAS EXTRACTED IN TO THE FINE DROPLETS OF 1-OCTANOL. THE MIXTURE WAS CENTRIFUGED AND DISPERSED FINE DROPLETS OF THE EXTRACTION PHASE WERE COLLECTED ON THE TOP OF THE TUBE, THEN 10 ML OF COLLECTED PHASE WAS DIRECTLY INJECTED IN TO HPLC FOR ANALYSIS. EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS, SUCH AS THE TYPE AND VOLUME OF EXTRACTION SOLVENT, THE CONCENTRATION OF SURFACTANT, EXTRACTION TIME, TYPE AND VOLUME OF BUFFER AND PH WERE OPTIMIZED.RESULTS: UNDER THE OPTIMAL CONDITIONS, LINEARITY RANG WAS OBTAINED FROM 0.5-50 NG/ML (R=0.9997), DETECTION OF LIMIT WAS 0.2 NG/ML AND RSD (N=8) FOR 5 AND 35 NG/ML OF PHENYLEPHRINE WAS OBTAINED 4% AND 2.5% RESPECTIVELY.CONCLUSION: THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS REVEALED THAT THIS METHOD PROVIDES HIGH RECOVERY AND PRECONCENTRATION FACTOR WITHIN A SHORT TIME AND GOOD LINEARITY OVER THE INVESTIGATED CONCENTRATION RANGE. THEREFORE, DLLME IS USEFUL FOR DETERMINATION PHENYLEPHRINE IN BIOLOGICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL SAMPLE.

BACKGROUND: DIAZINON (O, O-DIETHYL O- [4-METHYL-6- (PROPAN-2-YL) PYRIMIDIN-2-YL] PHOSPHOROTHIOATE) IS AN ANTICHOLINESTERASE ORGANOPHOSPHATE PESTICIDE, WHICH IS COMMONLY USED AGAINST INSECTS IN AGRICULTURE AND ALSO FOR CONTROLLING SILVERFISH, COCKROACHES, AND ANTS IN RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS [1]. DIAZINON FUNCTIONS AS AN ACETYLCHOLINESTERASE (ACHE) INHIBITOR. THE INHIBITION OF THIS ENZYME CAUSES AN ABNORMAL ACCUMULATION OF ACETYLCHOLINE IN THE SYNAPTIC CLEFT AT MUSCARINIC, NICOTINIC, AND CENTRAL SITES RESULTS IN THE TOXIC EFFECTS SUCH AS HEADACHE, DIZZINESS, CONVULSIONS, DELIRIUM, AND DEPRESSION [2].METHODS: IN THE PRESENT STUDY A SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION (SPE) METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF DIAZINON IS DESCRIBED. THIS STUDY INTRODUCES A NOVEL METHOD OF SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION (SPE), PRE-CONCENTRATION AND REVERSEDPHASE HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF DIAZINON FROM AN AQUEOUS MEDIUM BY CARBON BLACK PARTICLES AS AN ADSORBENT. RESULTS DEMONSTRATED THAT CARBON BLACK IS QUITE EFFICIENT FOR EXTRACTION AND PRECONCENTRATION OF TRACES OF DIAZINON AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.30 MG OF CARBON BLACK ADSORBENT WEIGHTED EXACTLY WAS LOADED IN COLUMN LENGTH OF 10 CM EXTRACTION. DIAZINON SOLUTION WAS PASSED THROUGH AT THIS IS COLUMN EXTRACTION. THEN ELUTED WITH 1 ML METANOL AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, FINALLY 20 ML OF ELUTED SOLUTION INJECTED TO HPLC. THESE TESTS INVESTIGATED THE EFFECTS OF PARAMETERS SUCH AS PH, BUFFER AND ITS VOLUME, ELECTROLYTE CONCENTRATION, COMPOSITION AND VOLUME OF THE DESORBING SOLVENT, ACCEPTED TOLERABLE VOLUME, AMOUNT OF ADSORBENT AND EVIDENCE OF SOME CO-EXISTING IONS ON PRECONCENTRATION AND DETERMINATION OF DIAZINON.RESULTS: THE METHOD SHOWED GOOD LINEARITY FOR DETERMINATION OF THESE COMPOUNDS IN THE RANGE OF 7-700 NG ML-1 WITH REGRESSION COEFFICIENTS BETTER THAN 0.9986. THE PROPOSED METHOD WAS SUCCESSFULLY APPLIED TO DETERMINATION OF TRACE AMOUNT OF DIAZINON IN WATER AND COMMERCIAL OXIDANT SAMPLES.CONCLUSION: A NEW SPE METHOD FOR PRECONCENTRATION OF DIAZINON. Abstract: 

Cloud Point Extraction (CPE) is an economic, rapid, and environmentally friendly method. It was performed by preconcentration samples (water and soil) that contained palladium. An ion-pair association complex was formed when the chromogenic reagent 2-(4-hydroxy phenyl azo)-4-benzene naphthol (HPBN) reacted with palladium in HCl media. It was then extracted into a surfactant (Triton X-114) rich phase. After diluting the cloud point layer with acidic methanol, the concentration of enriched samples was determined by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The effects of Triton X-114 and HCl concentrations, heating time, temperature, centrifuge rate, incubation duration, and interferences on cloud point extraction were analyzed and improved. The short extraction time (8 min) is an advantage of this method. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) are low (0. 10 and 0. 30 μ, g l-1, respectively). The enrichment factor (EF) and preconcentration factor (PF) are calculated to be 40 and 100, respectively. The precision for the approach was determined to be (RSD 1. 10%, n = 6). For collected samples, the FAAS was used to assess the accuracy of the modified preconcentration technique. The method can be used to detect palladium in natural samples, with relative recovery values ranging from 93 to 109% for various concentrations, demonstrating its accuracy.

Abstract: 

In this paper, a new method for preconcentration and measurement of trace amounts of nickel in aqueous samples by magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) via magnetic carbon nanotubes (Mag-CNTs) was developed. In order to increase selectivity, Y-Furildioxime was used as chelating agent. In order to do extraction, optimum amount of ligand was added to the nickel sample and pH was set on 9, then 7 ml. of adsorbent was added and stirred for 15 minutes. After that, aqueous phase and adsorbent were separated by a strong magnet. Finally, the absorption was measured via flame atomic absorption spectrometry by analyte elution from the absorbent with an appropriate solution. Parameters affecting the extraction and preconcentration of nickel were investigated and optimized. Under optimum conditions, the calibration curve was linear in concentration range from 2. 5 to 375 Zg L-1 and the detection limit was 0. 8 Zg L-1 of nickel. The method was applied for determination of nickel in aqueous samples. The relative efficiency values of nickel measurement in aqueous samples were from 98. 7% to 102. 1%. Results indicated that Mag-CNTs can be used as an effective and inexpensive absorbent for preconcentration and extraction of nickel from actual samples.

Abstract: 

Ore sorting Proposed proposed as an important step in the plant of chromite processing and the reported results in this field bounded. By using this method, substantial energy savings and increasing in production take place in the comminution stage. Ore sorting is done in three stages including entrance to the primary crusher, the output of the primary crusher and entrance to gravity separation which the primary crusher output stage has more favorable results. In this study, for separation with designed device, the identification and characterization of chromite ore is performed. Firstly, minerals imaged with three-dimensional scanner and by creating a cloud of points, the volume of chromite ore achieved and the equivalent diameter of stone pieces are determined. Then ores placed on the device’ s conveyor and the mass of each pieces are measured by load cell sensor and the density of minerals determined. Finally, according to the size and specified conditions of each fraction, the grade of stone pieces determined and according to the limit specified for the grade of the ore driven to concentrate or tailings. The results showed that Sabzevar chromite with a grade of 26. 16 percent with gaunge minerals after ore sorting, produces an initial concentrate with 33. 11 and 83. 92 percent of the grade and recovery respectively.
