Abstract:

In this paper, we study some properties of the near SR-compactness in L-topological spaces, where L is a fuzzy lattice. The near SR-compactness is a kind of compactness between Lowen's fuzzy compactness' and SR-compactness, and it preserves desirable properties of compactness in general topological spaces.

Perovskite dense membranes of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (LSCF), Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (BSCF) and SrCo0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (SCF) were prepared by complexation method with EDTA-citrate. The perovskite phase structure of the samples was characterized by X-ray diffraction and experimental formula and stoichiometry of the metal ions for the prepared perovskite were confirmed by atomic absorption spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma. The oxygen permeation flux through the perovskite dense membranes was measured and optimized by change in oxygen partial pressure, temperature, membrane thickness, and the used composition in perovskite structure. The oxygen permeation flux was measured in the range of temperature within 1073–1223 K and the partial pressure of 0.1–1.0 bar. The flux increases in the order of LSCF<SCF<BSCF membranes and the calculations of crystallography parameters such as lattice energy and free volume can confirm this point. The linear changes of oxygen flux versus ln (P2/P1) states that bulk diffusion through the membrane is the rate-limiting step.

Objective (s): Hardystonite (HT) is Zn-modified silicate bioceramics with promising results for bone tissue regeneration. However, HT possesses no obvious apatite formation. Thus, in this study we incorporated Sr and Ti into HT to prepare Sr-Ti-hardystonite (Sr-Ti-HT) nanocomposite and evaluated its in vitro bioactivity with the purpose of developing a more bioactive bone substitute material.Materials and methods: The HT and Sr-Ti-HT were prepared by mechanical milling and subsequent heat treatment. Calcium oxide (CaO), zinc oxide (ZnO) and silicon dioxide (SiO2) (all from Merck) were mixed with molar ratio of 2: 1: 2. The mixture of powders mixture was then milled in a planetary ball mill for 20 h. In the milling run, the ball-to-powder weight ratio was 10: 1 and the rotational speed was 200 rpm. After synthesis of HT, 3% nanotitanium dioxide (TiO2, Degussa) and 3% strontium carbonate (SrCO3, Merck) were added to HT and then the mixture was ball milled and calcined at 1150oC for 6 h. Simultaneous thermal analysis (STA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR) performed to characterize the powders. Results: XRD and FT-IR confirmed the crystal phase and silicate structure of HT and TEM images demonstrated the nanostructure of powders. Further, Sr-Ti-HT induced apatite formation and showed a higher human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSCs) adhesion and proliferation compared to HT.Conclusion: Our study revealed that Sr-Ti-HT with a nanostructured crystal structure of 50 nm, can be prepared by mechanical activation to use as biomaterials for orthopedic applications.

Abstract:

IntroductionThere are some theories about the Paleotethys event during the Paleozoic that have been proposed by geologists (Metcalfe, 2006). Some scientist offered some pieces of evidence about the northern margin of Gondwana (Zhu et al., 2010). The Paleotethys Ocean and Hercynian orogenic report first in Iran, have been Offered from the Morrow and Misho Mountain (Eftekharnejad, 1981). Misho Mountains is located between the north and south Misho faults and cause the formation of a positive flower structure (Moayyed and Hossainzade, 2011).There is theory about Misho southern fault as the best candidate of the Paleotethys suture zone (Moayyed and Hossainzade, 2011). Geochemistry and Sr –Nd isotopic data of the A2 granitic and Synite rocks of the East Misho, indicate that the magmatism post collision has occurred in the active continental margin by extensional zones of the following the closure of the Paleotethys (Ahankoub, 2012). Granite and syenite rocks have been cut by mafic dikes. Mafic dikes are often formed in extensional tectonic settings related to mantle plume or continental break-up (Zhu et al., 2009). In this paper, we use the geochemistry and Nd-Sr isotope data to determined petrogenesis, tectono-magmatic setting and age of Misho mafic dikes....

Among the first presented models of switched reluctance motor (SRM) is the so designated Miller model, which has admissible ability in modeling / predicting the behavior of motor, despite relative structural simplicity, low-cost and simple implementation. For this reason and despite the introduction of the other models, the Miller model has been used in large scale, both in electromotor design phase and in controller design phase. However, among perfectly obvious weaknesses of the Miller model is non-satisfaction of the evident condition of "zero slope of flux characteristic in angular aligned / unaligned positions" which subsequently cause weak performance, of this model in aforementioned angular positions. In this paper, improvement of the Miller model abilities has been the focus of attention. By maintaining the total structure of model and carrying out necessary corrections, in addition to preserving the other advantages, the aforementioned evident condition has also been fulfilled. Flux information of the involved SRM 6/4 has been obtained from two dimensional finite element (FE) analysis. Simulation results show that improvement process of the Miller model is successful in modeling the various magnetic characteristics of SRM, specially in vicinity of angular aligned/unaligned positions.

Abstract:

In this work, sol– gel derived bioactive glasses (BGs) system of 60% SiO2-(36-x) CaO-4P2O5-x SrO (where x = 2, 4, 6 and 8 mol%) were obtained. The bioactivity and proliferation of G292 cells was investigated for Sr-containing BGs. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were utilized to study the obtained phases, hydroxyapatite (HA) morphology, and its functional groups, respectively. The XRD and FTIR tests showed that the rate of hydroxyapatite formation on sample 2S was higher than that of other samples. Also 3-(4, 5 dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay performed after one day revealed that the sample containing 6 mol% of Sr (6S) showed higher viability. However, the sample with 8 mol% Sr (8S) showed a decrease in bioactivity in osteoblast G292 cells proliferation. According to the results, 6S BG specimen with 6 mol% SrO exhibited appropriate bioactivity and cell proliferation. This finding showed that the obtained BGs could be potentially used for drug delivery systems as well as dental and orthopedic applications.

Abstract:

The Ghoshchi granitic rocks are located in at north of Uromiyeh city and are mainly composed of alkali-feldspar granites, granites and aplitic dykes. These samples belong to calc-alkaline to shoshonitic series and show Fe enrichment and are classified as A-type granites. Ghoshchi granites have high K2O+Na2O, FeO/MgO, Gl/Al, Ce/Nb, Zr, Y/Nb, and low CaO, Ba, Sr and Eu and are A2-type granites. Geochemical and Sr-Nd isotopes evidences suggest that these rocks were generated by highly fractional crystallization of a parental magma (melts), was derived from an enriched mantle source, which have undergone contamination by crustal materials and formed in post-collisional extentional environments in a within-plate setting. The crystallization age of these rocks, according to biotite 40Ar-39Ar and Rb-Sr dating is 262± 26 Ma and 256± 20 Ma, as minimum age, respectively, and 320-330 Ma as crystallization age. Ghoshchi granites formed probably within extentional zones in at the late stages of Variscan tectonic events.

Abstract:

The concepts of SR-fuzzy quasi-subalgebras and (ultra) SR-fuzzy filters over Sheffer stroke BL-algebras are introduced for the study of quasi-subalgebras and (ultra) filters using the SR-fuzzy set, and various properties are investigated accordingly. The relationship between SR-fuzzy quasi-subalgebras and SR-fuzzy filters is considered, and the characterizations of an (ultra) SR-fuzzy filter are discussed.

Abstract:

A male patient in his 20s presented at our clinic with pain caused by bone metastases of the primitive neuroectodermal tumor, and Sr-89 was administrated to palliate the pain. After receiving the injection, the patient complained of a slight burning pain at the catheterized area. Slight reddening and small circular swelling (diameter, 0.5 cm) were observed at the catheterized area. Sr-89 extravasation was suspected. To estimate the amount of subcutaneous Sr-89 leakage, bremsstrahlung imaging was immediately performed. We speculated that the skin-absorbed dose from subcutaneous infiltration of Sr-89 was 1.78 Gy. The mildest clinical sign of local radiation injury was erythema. The received dose was higher than 3 Gy, and the time of onset was from 2 to 3 weeks. In our patient, local radiation injuries (LRIs) did not occur. Though requiring further verification, subsequent bremsstrahlung imaging and estimation of the skin-absorbed dose from the subcutaneous infiltration of Sr-89 are useful in confirming Sr-89 extravasation and in the decision making for the choice of treatment strategies for LRIs caused by Sr-89 extravasation.
