Abstract:

The current research was conducted with the aim of the effect of attachment style on emotion regulation with the mediating role of identity style. The research method was descriptive and structural equation analysis. The statistical population of the research was all second year high school students of Kashan city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 500 people were selected by random cluster method. Data were collected based on three questionnaires: Gross & Jan (2003) Emotional Regulation Inventory, Identity Style Scale (6G-ISI) and Collins and Reid (1990) attachment Style Questionnaire. The data are obtained by structural equation modeling and using Laserl 8.8 and 26 spss software. analyzed. Based on the results, secure attachment style at a significance level of 0.01, avoidant attachment style at a significance level of 0.05, and ambivalent attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three attachments, secure attachment style predicted emotion regulation at a significant level of 0.01, with the mediation of identity styles. Informational identity style at a significance level of 0.01, confused identity style at a significance level of 0.05 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three attachments, only the secure attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 had a significant role in predicting the normative identity style. According to the results of this study, emotion regulation is one of the most important constructs of educational psychology and an important factor in determining mental health and successful performance. It is in education that the factors affecting emotion regulation and its antecedents should be identified. Planning for training and holding educational workshops in this field in schools is suggested for students.

Abstract:

This study investigated the relationship between three attachment styles: perceived childhood attachment, adult attachment, and attachment to God in the Islamic society of Iran. 193 high school students were selected by cluster sampling method and completed the measures of attachment to God (Rowatt & Kirkpatrick, 2002), Adult attachment Styles (Hazan & Shaver, 1987), and Perceived Childhood attachment to Each Parent (Hazan & Shaver, 1986). Results indicated that insecure attachment to parents, insecure adult attachment, and insecure attachment to God were positively correlated with each other. Secure attachment to parents was positively related to secure attachment to God. The quality of relationship with God and attachment to parents in adulthood are discussed.

Abstract:

Introduction: Chronic periodontitis has been associated with cardiovascular diseases. The hypothesis that oral, especially periodontal, infections have potentially serious systemic implications, is now gaining credence. Methods and Materials: Cases were 45-60 years old patients who had been hospitalized in one of cardiologic care units or emergency wards of Isfahan Medical University, for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Controls had no evidence of acute myocardial infarction, all receiving comprehensive periodontal examination. Information such as age, socioeconomic state, smoking, and diabetes history were obtained from hospital records and direct interview. A total number of %6 people participated in our study, based on informed consent, were designated as two groups of case and control. The association between mean attachment level and number of missing teeth with studied groups were analyzed with SPSS statistical software. Results: The association of the mean attachment level and also the number of missing teeth with case status were statically significant associated (P<0.05).Conclusion: The results are in accordance with those reports that show the positive association between these two diseases. Our findings suggest that the patients who demonstrate evidence of attachment loss around several teeth, at routine dental visit can be identified as being at risk for future AMI. Such subjects should be referred for medical and periodontal examination and treatment.

Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to predict children’s attachment indices from parental attachment indices. Two hundred and seven students (146 females, 56 males, 5 unspecified) and their parents (207 fathers, 207 mothers) were selected from universities of Tehran using convenience sampling method. The participants completed the Adult attachment Inventory (AAI; Besharat, 2011, 2013). The results indicated that parental attachment indices correlated significantly with children's attachment indices. The results of mixed model indicated that parental attachment indices could predicted children's attachment indices and attachment styles transmitted from parents to children intergeneration ally. All three maternal attachment styles (secure, avoidant, ambivalent) could predicted children's attachment styles (secure, avoidant, resistant). However, paternal avoidant attachment style couldn’t predict children's attachment styles. The findings suggest that the attachment characteristics have the capacity to transmit from one generation to the other, by knowing the intergenerational mechanisms the attachment characteristics of the next generation can be predicted, and the transmission of pathological features could be prevented and healthy characteristics could be improved by implementing educational interventions.

Abstract:

This research attempts to determine those landscapes and landscape properties, which stimulate place attachment. To this end, a series of unstructured interviews were held with some 160 respondents from Shiraz and Tehran. There was an even distribution in terms of gender, age, and education in the sample. In these interviews, open questions were asked on:Type of landscapes in which the respondent feels internal ecstasy;Examples of landscapes the respondent feels them to be sublime;Types of landscape which are fit for certain functions or feelings such as contemplation, privacy, reclusiveness;Example of landscapes favored by the respondent;Degree of predilection for Modern parks and/or Persian gardens;Type of house preferred by the respondent; and Landscape elements that carry symbolic meanings. Answers to these questions were recorded and subsequently coded for statistical analysis. In conclusion, factors which cause the respondents to like or dislike a certain landscape were classified in functional, aesthetic experimental; and environmental categories.
