Abstract: 

Nowadays, the fundamental role of having a purpose for life in physical and mental health has been confirmed. According to victor frankl, presence of a purpose in life gives life a meaning and increases resilience against pains and traumas. The importance of the purpose in life construct reveals the need for a reliable and valid tool to measure it. Crumbaugh and Maholick's purpose in life questionnaire is the first and one of the most applied tools for the assessment of life's purposefulness. The aim of this research is to determine the factor structure of purpose in life questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered on 206 students who were selected through random stratified sampling at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Exploratory factor analysis showed that there are two factors "comprehension" and "purpose" and this finding were confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. Altogether results of this research showed factor validity of the purpose in life questionnaire with a two factor pattern

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: In a bimodal fitting, one ear is stimulated acoustically with a hearing aid and the other is stimulated electrically with a cochlear implant. This paper provides a brief summary of the concept of bimodal fitting, binaural hearing and its importance, the hearing benefits of binaural hearing in bimodal fitting, candidacy and hearing aid adjustment in bimodal fitting cases. Recent Findings: Researches have shown that bimodal fitting offers a wide range of hearing benefits over unilateral cochlear implants, such as better speech perception in noise, better musical perception, and a better understanding of pitch and tone perception and naturalness of sound perception. Conclusion: Considering the binaural hearing advantages in bimodal fitting users, it can be concluded that users of unilateral cochlear implants who have measurable residual hearing in their non-implanted ear can use a hearing aid in that ear and enjoy binaural hearing advantages. The hearing aid should be fitted in a way to complement the information obtained through cochlear implantation.

Abstract: 

It is known that if G = AB is a product of its totally permutable subgroups A and B, then G 2 F if and only if A 2 F and B 2 F when F is a Fischer class containing the class U of supersoluble groups. We show that this holds when G = AB is a weakly totally permutable product for a particular Fischer class, F ⋄,N, where F is a Fitting class containing the class U and N a class of nilpotent groups. We also extend some results concerning the U-hypercentre of a totally permutable product to a weakly totally permutable product.

Abstract: 

In this manuscript, we proposed a new scheme in communication signal detection which is respect to the curve shape of received signal and based on the extraction of curve fitting (CF) features. This feature extraction technique is proposed for signal data classification in receiver. The proposed scheme is based on curve fitting and approximation of rational fraction coefficients. For each symbol of received signal, a specific rational function approximation is developed to fit with received signal curve and the coefficients of the numerator and denominator polynomials of this function are considered as new extracted features. Then it will be shown that the coefficients of this polynomials have the potential for using as new features in a statistical classifier and have better performance in competition with other solutions such as linear and even nonlinear feature extraction methods in classification. The criteria used in performance evaluation are probability of error and signal to noise ratio in FSK and ASK modulations. For each symbol of received signal, a specific rational function approximation is developed to fit with received signal curve and the coefficients of the numerator and denominator polynomials of this function are considered as new extracted features. In the proposed method, there are two phases train and test, which are described in the following two steps. First, in the train phase, the algorithm starts by using binary FSK and ASK modulations, so first, a system generate a number of random symbols then signal is modulated by binary ASK and FSK. The Modulated FSK and ASK signals are corrupted in the channel with noise. The noise-corrupted signal enters the receiver at the corresponding transmitted interval. Then, the samples are extracted from the modulated signals based on predetermined sample rates. Then, we fit a rational fraction curve with degrees of L and M to each set of N samples. Afterward, we apply all the numerator (L+1) and denominator (M) coefficients to 0 and 1 classes in the binary FSK and ASK modulations. We store all the specific coefficients of the deterministic symbols at different M and L values to create the corresponding histogram in each class. In each histogram (i. e., the coefficients of a class), we extract and store specific coefficients that completely discriminate between the two classes. Therefore, we determine all the histograms where there is a good approximation of discrimination and create the related table. Note that the data used in histograms are the training data. Then, in order to analyze and evaluate the performance of the proposed curve fitting method, we send the testing data through the channel corresponding to the related modulator. The results of the proposed classification method show that it provides smaller error rate regarding to the theoretical error rate probability in AWGN channel.

Abstract: 

Pedomodels have become a popular topic in soil science and environmental research. They are predictive functions of certain soil properties based on other easily or cheaply measured properties. The common method for fitting pedomodels is to use classical regression analysis, based on the assumptions of data crispness and deterministic relations among variables. In modeling natural systems such as soil system, in which the above assumptions are not held true, prediction is influential and we must therefore attempt to analyze the behavior and structure of such systems more realistically. In this paper we consider fuzzy least squares regression as a means of fitting pedomodels. The theoretical and practical considerations are illustrated by developing some examples of real pedomodels.
