Abstract:

Introduction: Social order is considered as one of the first concerns of early sociologists and most of classic and modern A sociologists have written about. According some works, social order and predictability in members of the society's interaction is based on common styles of thinking, feeling and behavior. A These common styles are known as social norms. A Norms like values are important elements of culture. Norms and values are transmitted through socialization and internalization. One of the most important norms is honesty. honesty is the essential norm in the field of culture and endurance of cultural system of the society extremely depends on the honesty norm. In many social settings dishonesty is problematic. One A of the critical fields of social action is the field of citizens and state interaction in income information submission which dishonesty is its main problem. Citizens' honesty with the government is very important especially when the government needs some information for policy making and management purposes and equitable resource distribution. It is more crucial when there is not any integrated information system or it has low quality. In this condition, gathering some data related to needs, shortcomings or accumulation of resources in some fields requires accurate information provided and submitted by citizens. If the necessary information is related to economic activities of citizens for economic policy making, then honesty is more problematic. A This paper aims to estimate the amount of normative consensus in honesty with state in income information submission and its norm structure in conditionality and polarity. Material & Method A Factorial survey design was conducted. This kind of survey is based on merging an experimental design and survey method. According to Rossi and Andersen (1982) factorial survey considers complexity of real world and conditions of real choices and people's real judgments. Factorial survey uses vignettes which are some descriptions of situations with different characteristics as variables. Some scholars believe that factorial survey reduces the probability of distortion in answers or providing an idealized version of values by subjects. So, factorial survey reduces the bias in survey research. Statistical population included all 18 years old and up living in 13 urban districts of Mashhad. A sample including 160 residents of Mashhad were selected through multistage sampling A (stratified and systematic sampling). A After conducting factorial survey, we used Rossi and Berk (1985) to analyze data. In the next step norm structure of honesty was described. Discussion of Results & Conclusions Results indicated that (1) the A norm structure of honesty with state has positive polarity and most of respondents (65%) have accepted the norm weakly or strongly. However, the negative consensus is very weak and merely 5% of respondents are dishonest with state. There is a polarity in the norm structure and about 30% of respondents are sometimes honest and sometimes dishonest. (2) The norm structure is almost completely conditional and 99.4% of respondents act conditionally. (3) In the norm structure there is not any lack of norm. There is no respondent in the sample wandering around the bounds of honesty and dishonesty. (4) Among four dual positions affecting adherence to the norm (punishment, disclosure, interest, conformity), the first one (punishment) more than other factors affects respondents' norm adherence. Conditionality of honesty with state among majority of respondents in one hand, and salience of punishment impact on being honest with sate in other hand, implies that honesty with state is more derived from a socio-political restriction, than from a stable moral source or belief. So, it's expected that the structure of honesty norm with state has a fragile and unstable nature.

Abstract:

Market transparency can be defined as a "timely and reliable trend of economic, social and political information available to those who interest in market". Although most economists have explained the feature of transparency or confidential information for healthy competition market have been defined, most economists admit that most markets suffer from lack of information. They have proposed such strategies like suppliers' signaling, organizing institutions and state's management and supervision as a means to compensate this lack of information in market. It seems that capitalist economy cannot compensate this lack by relying on its principles. In Islamic market, the term "honesty" is a moral virtue and a graded perfection with a foundation and value load which are not found in transparency. It is not only the characteristics of market but also of the agents of the market that should be considered. By honesty, we mean its broad meaning, that is, honesty in terms of intention, conduct, and structure. In a market in which honesty is dominant, both sides of transaction have a sense of quiescence towards each other's behavior and no one of them keeps things secret while purchasing goods. If there is a mistake, it can be compensated through a certain market mechanism.

Abstract:

In Mystical Ethics, honesty at a superficial level refers to the conformation of speech and actions with intention and purpose. This application of honesty has been analyzed in depth in Mystical Ethics and this analysis has resulted in honesty being considered as the foundation and basis of other virtues in five cases from which it can be understood that many of the virtues are not virtues without honesty. In fact, these five cases provide important and various meanings of the foundational virtue in mystical works. Considering these explanations, one can find different levels and types of the virtue of honesty in mysticism and assess the important conflicts and challenges it gives rise to. This specific approach to honesty will help in carrying out an in-depth analysis of dishonesty as well as recognizing self-deception in honesty.

Abstract:

Undoubtedly, the most important function of the religious preaching is to deliver the faithful message to the religious community honestly. This function sometimes faces ethical challenges or dilemmas, placing the sum at the cost of two or more ways of making ethical decisions. This article aims to address some of the most important challenges of honesty in the field of religious preaching. To this end, the most important texts and resources written on the promotion of religion were referred to, and their content analyzed qualitatively. The findings of this study showed that honest advertising is sometimes at odds with the personal interests of the preachers, sometimes attracting maximum audiences jeopardizes the honesty of the preaching, sometimes weakening the merits and qualifications of the preacher. The mission of religion can also be one of the reasons for the lack of integrity in the promotion of religion.

Abstract:

The economic system’s optimum functionality in the society requires efficient, complementary and powerful real and financial sectors. The efficient financial sector’s role is to optimally allocate the economy’s scare resources among different sectors. Each of these two sectors’ inadequate activity will adversely affect the other’s function as well. Symmetric information - honesty - shared between economic agents is a requirement for financial markets to be efficient. The present article’s main objective is to examine the effect of honesty in financial markets on investment and production. The sample examined in this research consists of a representative of developed countries (G8) and a representative of developing countries for the period 1993-2012 and the method adopted is panel data. The article is presented in two theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part’s findings show that as honesty increases, the costs of financial intermediaries, price and the capital rent rate will decrease, and, in a stable environment, investment, capital accumulation and production will increase and so will lead to an increase in the public prosperity and consumption. The empirical model’s findings confirm those of the theoretical part and show that in both groups of countries, as honesty in the financial market increases, production and economic growth will increase as well.

Abstract:

There is no doubt about man's social nature. Islamic thinkers consider man to be a social being.  In our world today, where the void of honesty in speech, behavior, beliefs, ideas, and opinions is greatly evident in social relationships, people in any type of social relationship, especially with those who have power, wealth, and knowledge, assume lies in their behavior and words. Therefore, it is necessary to state the clear opinion of the Islamic religion on this matter and present it as a practical solution. In this article, the researcher examines the criterion for this support from the point of view of verse 119 of Surat Al-Tawbah. In this verse, we can see that it is discussed about social relations, whether governmental, economical, educational and so on. This verse also talks about ideological aspect and accompanying the infallible Imams. The result of this research is as the following: the main factor in any relation is honesty which is embodied by honest people. The research methodology of this research is a combination of descriptive and analytic method. The main sources are the Holy Qur’an, the Prophet’s Hadiths, and theological books.

Abstract:

honesty in Islamic mystical ethics, at a superficial level, refers to the correspondence between speech, action, and intention and purpose. This application of honesty has been analyzed in depth in mystical ethics, and the analysis has resulted in honesty being considered as the foundation and basis of other virtues from five aspects, from which it can be understood that many of virtues are not virtues without honesty. In fact, these five aspects provide important and various meanings of foundational virtue in mythical texts. Considering this, one can find different levels and types of the virtue of honesty in mysticism and assess the obstacles in its path. A deep analysis of dishonesty and distinguishing self-deception are among the most important results of this specific approach to honesty. It is also in view of these analyses that mystics can explain how honesty can result in important ethical fruits, such as love for others, altruism, and abstaining from utilitarianism and egoism in actions, and how it leads to important psychological states, like happiness, satisfaction, hope, and strong inclination to virtues.
