Abstract: 

ONE OF THE BEST METHODS FOR CONSTRUCTING A PILOT PLANT OF PLUG AND PACKED BED FLOW REACTOR IS TO SCALE DOWN THE DIMENSIONS OF AN INDUSTRIAL ONE. IN THIS REGARD, THE FIRST STEP IS TO SIMULATE THE REACTIONS OF THE INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT BY EMPLOYING PROPER KINETIC EQUATIONS AND THEN SCALE DOWN ALL THE DIMENSIONS WITH DIFFERENT SCALING FACTOR IN ORDER TO FIND OUT THE SMALLEST POSSIBLE DIMENSIONS FOR THE PHYSICAL MODEL. IN THIS PAPER ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO FIND OUT THE PROPER DIMENSIONS OF PHYSICAL MODEL, OF A CATALYTIC NATURAL GAS REFORMER PILOT BASED ON THE INDUSTRIAL REFORMER WHICH IS CURRENTLY OPERATES AT GHADIR IRON AND STEEL COMPANY IN IRAN. IN THIS REGARD, THE SIMULATION OF REFORMING, WATER-GAS SHIFT AND METHANATION REACTIONS ON THE NI/ AL2O3 CATALYST, WITH THE OPERATIONAL CONDITION DATA WAS PERFORMED WITH ASPEN-HYSYS SOFTWARE. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT SINCE THE REFORMING REACTIONS ARE SO FAST, THE KINETICS OF THE REACTIONS IS NOT MUCH DEPENDENT ON THE TUBE REACTOR DIMENSIONS AND THEREFORE THE DIMENSION OF THE PHYSICAL MODEL OF THE REFORMER IS NOT AN ISSUE IN DESIGNING A PHYSICAL MODEL.

Abstract: 

RECENT YEARS, VIBRATION LADLE SLAG DETECTION WAS THE MOST WIDELY USED CONTINUES CASTING LADLE SLAG DETECTION TECHNOLOGY AS THE LOWER COST AND THE CONVENIENT OPERATION. THE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE OF SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS WERE BEEN MADE TO INCREASE THE ALARM ACCURACY. ON THE HARDWARE SIDE, SEVERAL GENERATIONS OF LADLE OPERATING ARM VIBRATION SIGNAL DETECTION DEVICE WERE DEVELOPED, THE VIBRATION ACCELERATION SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO STEADILY INCREASED. ON THE SOFTWARE SIDE, THE SPECIAL DETECTION ALGORITHM WAS ESTABLISHED BASED ON THE FOURIER TRANSFORM AND WAVELET TRANSFORM. THE NEW SYSTEM HAD ALREADY APPLIED IN SEVERAL STEEL CONTINUES CASTERS. THE SYSTEM ACHIEVED NO LESS THAN 95% ALARM ACCURACY WITH THE NEW ALGORITHM, AND CAN DISTINCT THE FULL-STEEL, MIX-SLAG AND FULL-SLAG VIBRATION SIGNALS. THE SENSITIVITY WAS ABOUT DISTINCT THE SLAG SIGNAL AND ALARM IN LESS THAN 1S.

Abstract: 

HIGH SULFUR IRON ORE CONCENTRATES CAUSES SEVERAL PROBLEMS IN STEEL MAKING PROCESS AND HENCE AFFECT THE CONCENTRATE PRICE. ALSO ITS LEAD TO ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES SUCH AS SULFUR DIOXIDE EMISSIONS DURING THE CONCENTRATE PELLETIZING PROCESS. THE CURRENT STUDY IS FOCUSED ON THE REMOVAL OF SULFUR FROM IRON ORE CONCENTRATE USING CHEMICAL LEACHING TECHNIQUE. MAGNETITE IRON ORE CONCENTRATE WERE CHOSEN FOR THE STUDY. LABORATORY RESULTS ARE PRESENTED HERE. THESE RESULTS SHOW THAT MORE THAN 90% OF THE TOTAL SULFUR CONTENT, CAN BE REMOVED FROM IRON ORE CONCENTRATE BY CHEMICAL LEACHING. THE BACKGROUND FOR THE PROCESS CONCEPT AND A SUMMARY OF THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED BELOW. EFFECT OF SEVERAL PARAMETERS SUCH AS TEMPERATURE, PARTICLE SIZE ON SULFUR REMOVAL WAS STUDIED BY SERIES OF EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SULFUR REMOVAL WAS ENHANCED WITH THE INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE AND INCREASING TEMPERATURE WAS MORE IMPORTANT IN SULFUR REMOVAL THAN DECREASING PARTICLE SIZE.
