Certain institutes act to deal with crimes in all criminal justice systems. Police is one of the most important of these institutes. The police need certain authorities given from the related governments to perform their mission in this respect which should in turn be correctly monitored.The present study tries to elaborate on the criteria for preliminary interrogation of the accused by the police according to the international documents and the internal rights and laws of U.K and France. The legal status of our country Iran are being explored in this respect and the related shortcomings are being clarified and are being presented with appropriate suggestions and working procedures.

Sense of security is among the life quality variables in the cities. Social harm is the most important consequence of lack of security. Urban areas should be so prepared as to provide people of all ages, social statuses, and genders with a safe, secure, and stable environment.The present study aims at measuring the sense of social security development in the citizens of small and border cities. Questionnaire was used to collect the required data to be analyzed by SPSS.The findings of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between sense of security and indices like social capital, media performance, the role of police, people's social status, and special features of cities.

Disturbances on the way of missions are among the probable problems in different organizations which prevent them from development. This is the case for the police organization.The present study tries to explore the "disturbance" issue in Tehran police stations' missions. Strategies attained from the situational prevention techniques were implemented in this study to prevent disturbance in missions.The collected data were analyzed; the findings demonstrated that the following strategies are effective enough: hanging the closed rooms to outdoor rooms; separating the report taking and complaints units from the other ones; developing the recording system for missions; linking the police station system with the judicial systems; developing the surveillance teams.

The present study aims at determining factors contributing to the change in the drug abuse pattern among the young from traditional to industrial. No doubt, before taking any action into consideration in terms of preventing drug abuse among the young, It is a need to clarify different aspects of the issue.This study was to elaborate on the changes among the youngesters' drug abuse pattern. Two different statistical samples were randomly selected from among the experts and the addicts. The findings of the study demonstrated that: 1. The average age of industrial drug abuse among the young has decreased; 2. Crack and crystal are two types of drugs that the young start from; 3. The age of drug abuse pattern change starts from 15; 4. Increase in the number and time of sexual arousal was the most important factor in the selection of the first drug abused by the young; 5. Cost-effectiveness, imitation from the peers, abuse in the parties were among the most important factors influencing the change in the drug abuse pattern.

Theft is among the most common crimes committed in all societies. The present study aims at exploring the stationary and non stationary theft rates in the cities of Zanjan. All those who committed theft during 2007 to 2008 in the cities of Zanjan (N=493) were the statistical sample. The required data of this field study were collected via questionnaire, interview, and observation. SPSS was used to analyze the collected data. The sample findings are as follows: 1.There is a significant relationship between "The theft technique and thieves' motivations".2.There are significant relationships between."The theft technique and criminal records", "The theft technique and drug abuse", "The theft technique and the theft type", "The theft technique and residential place", and "The theft technique and the place of birth of thieves".

Regarding the role of automobiles in today's life and the increasing rate of accidents, liability due to traffic accidents has turned to become one of the most important issues in the related civil liability. Hence, law makers in many countries have attempted to ratify rules and regulations to clarify best the liability resulting from traffic accidents. The law of civil liability insurance of vehicle holders against the third party which suffered from lack of social, legal, and economic attentions was corrected and reviewed in 2008 which can be considered a great step forward.The present study tries to elaborate on different aspects of the law and the role of police in it.

Several factors are at work to form violent behaviors the most important of which is defenseless space. There are certain amounts of violence in each urban space, but the density of violence is high in defenseless spaces.The present study tries to explore the features attributed to urban defenseless spaces in order to identify the causes of difference in the types of violence committed in different defenseless spaces.12 hot spots (defenseless spaces) from among 108 hot spots in Tehran were examined.The findings of the study demonstrated that the features of defenseless spaces can be categorized into three categories: physical, social, and physical-social; each of these categories can also be furthered grouped into specific, semi specific, public, and semipublic features.
