Introduction: Colors are so influential on the spirit of human beings that can change their behavior. Color is a criteria for the evaluation of personality and health in modern psychology because any color has special effect on persons’ mental and physical condition. The aim of this study was to investigate the psychological effect of the uniform of personnel of a public library on their mental health. Therefore, we studied somatic symptoms, anxiety, Social withdrawal, and depression influenced by color.Methodology: This study was an applied study based on quasi experimental and was associated with pretest, protest, control group and examination. Statistical sample of this study included 30 librarians from Esfahan public libraries. The sample was randomly selected and assigned into two exam groups such test group (N=15) and control group (N=15). Research tools was a questionnaires including GHQ28. The findings were analyzed by SPSS/PC version 19.Results: Findings show that personnel’s uniform color has impact on their mental health, anxiety and depression. The impact percentages are 16.0%, 43.0% and 38.0% respectively. However, there is no relationship with their somatic symptoms and social withdrawal.Conclusion: Changing the personnel’s uniform color can have positive effect on their mental health and as well as anxiety and depression.
