Abstract: 

Planning of dimensional stone quarry operation is an important but a neglected task, and the lack of a proper decision variable seems to be the main obstacle. However, there is no single variable to use in dimensional stone quarries. In the paper we have focused on wire consume and outputs in Ahrar Sepahan’s travertine quarry in different mining face and on the basis of different travertine types. Results show that several operating factors such as block size and cutting velocity as well as travertine types affect wire output.

Abstract: 

This study was conducted on Damavand zeolite zone. Based on the results of chemical and mineralogical analyzes, Clinoptilolite zeolite was determined from the area. In this study, the natural mineral clinoptilolite alkaline solutions in the laboratory and in the presence of 8 M KOH and NaOH 4 M, Merlinoite (synthetic zeolite) were synthesized. The results showed that the temperature of 200oC and in the presence of high concentrations of Na+, the percentage decline phase clinoptilolite obtained includes Merlinoite, natrollite and is halloycite. Merlinoite, synthetic zeolites with respect to the crystalline structure and physical and chemical properties, especially, the extensive use of natural zeolite is in the industry and technology.

Abstract: 

Since a lot of man-made constructions have been built on the surface of rocks or inside them, the determination of rock different parameters which use for designing purposes is of great significance. In some rocks, because of the presence of thin bedding or schistosity planes, rock cores are separated to small discs of which the core length may be too short to prepare standard specimens for conducting tests such as uniaxial compressive strength. Marlstone falls into this category. In this research, uniaxial compressive strength test, punch test, point load test, velocity sound determination test, Brazilian test and specific gravity determination test are performed on some specimens of marlstone collected from Imamzadeh Hashem area located in Gilan province and Abgarm city situated in Qazvin province. This research aims to provide some relations by using of which one can estimate the point load index, uniaxial compressive strength, tension strength and compressive wave velocity through punch test results. The results show that the properties of marlstone can be estimated with a high level of accuracy by using the proposed relations because the correlation coefficient of all the relations is above 0.79.

Abstract: 

Knowledge to geology conditions and its hazards, have an important role to selection support and suitable excavation method in underground structures. Water transport tunnel is the most important such this structures. Golab water transition tunnel with 11 kilometers lengths and 4.2 meters diameter is a part of water transporting project from the Zayanderood dam to Esfahan and Kashan cities. With regard to high, calcitic and weak overburden for this tunnel, the research on probability geology hazards such as squeezing and rock burst are compared and studied. In this Research, at first, the tunnel is zoned by using of geophysics studies and boreholes, then the squeezing and rock burst potential have been discussed and comprised. Results of our studies, low to moderate squeezing potential and low Rock burst potential have been predicted for some panels of the tunnel. Finally, primary support has been suggested for this tunnel based on probable geological hazards and using numerical methods.

Abstract: 

The Cheraghvays dam is located in 17Km away from the west of Saqez in Kurdistan province. Basically, the arrangement of grout holes was based on the quality of bedrock, so the grout holes were arranged at 2 m intervals and 10.5m final depth. Also, the consolidation grouting process was conducted from the bottom to the top of the grout holes. Particular attention to the geological structures in the initial studies and construction of dams is important which locking of it can be caused some problems. Therefore, in this paper, permeability and cement take of 1438 grouted holes were studied and interpreted by using geological view of the beneath clay core of Cheraghvays dam. Finally two parameters, permeability and cement take of mentioned grouted holes were compared and their nonconformity is interpreted by geological view and imperfection of Lugeon test.

Abstract: 

Groundwater has always been considered as one of the major sources of drinking and agricultural water supply, especially in arid and semi-arid areas. Ground water systems simulations because of their inherent complexity are not readily possible. The goal of this research is prediction of groundwater level fluctuation in Shabestar Plain, West of East Azerbaijan province, using artificial neural networks (ANN). The 9 years data sets (1380-1388) from 15 piezometers that uniformly disperse on the whole plain is applied for ANN model training. The four inputs ANN model were monthly data set from temperature, rainfall, Daryanchay discharge, groundwater level in each piezometer with one month delay (t0-1). The groundwater level was the only output of the ANN model. The results of this research showed that the ANN model with TRAINLM training function and with TANSIG activation function are capable to monthly prediction of groundwater level in 3 years period with high accuracy R2=99.63, RMSE=1.43 in training step and R2=99.16, RMSE= 1.167 in validation step in study area.

Abstract: 

The studied area is located on the southeastern coast of Caspian Sea on the first part of Miankaleh sand spit. Important industrial centers such as, Neka Power Plant, Iran Sadra Shipbuilding Company, Oil Drilling companies and Amir Abad Port are located in the coastal part of this area that has about 23 Km at length. To specify anthropogenic impact rate on the shore lines, it was necessary to know the sediment transportation trend. There are different sea sampling methods. The proper model is resulted from combinations of methods like Mclaren-Bowles, Gao-Callins, Le Roux and Sunamura & Horikawa. The mentioned area is divided into 3 zones (western, central and eastern) and 9 transects. The central zone is the most dangerous one. Each transect was sampled in depths of 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.5, 5 and 10 meters. Grain-Size statistical parameters, such as mean grain size (Mz), sorting (si), skewness (Ski) and kurtosis (KG) were obtained by analyzing grain-size. Finally, maps of distribution techniques of mean grain size, sorting and skewness for the sediments were plotted. Also, by consideration of bathymetry map, sediment transport pathway map was prepared. In addition, a diagram showing combination, sorting and mean grain size for the sediments was prepared. Consequently by using this way we can show sediment transport pathways in time of encountering to the beach constructions and their behavior. Also rate of erosion and sedimentation in areas that surrounded these constructions can be estimated using this method.
