Abstract: 

In this research, a new method was developed for direct determination of Reactive Orange 84 in aqueous solutions during electreooxidation degradation in presence of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. Firstly, analytical parameters of two methods the spectrophotometry and electrochemistry was compared to choose the best method for determination of dye in aqueous. The electrochemical measurements of dye conducted out by glassy carbon electrode modified by graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles. The results shown that the electrochemical method is capable determinate very low concentrations of dye (20. 0 nM) compared with spectrophotometry (4. 8 μ M) even in the presence of suspended particles in the solution. The proposed method has a linear range of 0. 05 to 100. 0 μ M toward concentrations from Reactive Orange 84. The effect of presence of different dyes and interfering ions on performance the proposed method in the dye measurement was investigated. In addition, presented method was successfully applied to RO84 detection in wastewater samples collected from two textile plant. J. Color Sci. Tech. 12(2018), 81-92© . Abstract: 

This paper aims at treatment of Zinc oxide nanoparticles with amino-and glymo-functional silane coupling agents. The influence of such treatment (with three range of concentration of silanes) on photocatalytic activity of nanoparticles is discussed. TGA and FTIR analyses confirmed the surface treatment successfulness and revealed that the higher concentration of silane leads to a higher amount of treatment on particles surface. UV-visible studies demonstrated that surface treatment with silane coupling agents increased the UV absorption capabilities of nanoparticles. In addition, the particles' stability in aqueous and organic media was investigated photocatalytic assessments in liquid medium revealed that while amino silane reduced the photocatalytic activity, glymo-silane promoted it. Abstract: 

In this research, core-shell particles of silica/fluorescein isocyanate were prepared by Stober method. By changing the pH of the reaction, the particles were produced in two different sizes. The results of infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy showed that the molecules of fluorescein isocyanate were attached to the silica by a silane coupling agent. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy images showed that relatively uniform particles with average diameter of 326 and 176 nm have been produced. The results showed that the fluorescence intensity of the fluorescent core-shell nanoparticles with greater diameter was more than three times greater than that of fluorescein isocyanate. Besides, the fluorescence intensity of particles with larger diameter was higher than that of particles with smaller diameter. The fluorescence intensity of nanoparticles in the solutions of phosphate buffer with different pH showed that the fluorescence intensity of the nanoparticles was linearly increased by increasing the pH of solution. The slope of the fitted line was greater for the larger particles; which indicated that the larger nanoparticles had higher sensitivity to the changes in the pH of the environment. J. Color Sci. Abstract: 

In this study, weld plant dyes were extracted by ultrasonic waves assisted extraction (UAE) method and then, transformed to the concentrated extracts and powder. The efficiency of the extraction process was optimized with employment of a central composite design (CCD), and the optimum conditions of the influential variables, including temperature, time, power of ultrasound, and the bath pH were investigated with response surface methodology (RSM). In this way, an amount of 0. 1 g of weld plant powder was extracted in 100 ml of distilled water as the solvent. The optimized amount of variables was found to be of 30 ° C, 40 min, 73% of ultrasonic power and pH= 11 of the dyeing bath, where the extraction efficiency was of 87. 14%. Then, the extract was analyzed by GC-MS analytical method and 3, 7-dioxo-6, 6, 10-trimethyl-8, 10-undecadien-4-yl was identified as the coloring agent of the plant. Also, comparison of using methanol, as the solvent, in conventional extraction method and in UAE method revealed that the use of ultrasound significantly increases the extraction efficiency. Abstract: 

Hair dyes contain strong allergens and are widely available. Correct labeling is a necessity in order to provide information about the contents, aromatic amines of color precursor are commonly derived from phenylene amine sulfuric acid or para phenylene diamine sulfuric acid. More study in hair dye precursor showed the toxicity behavior and carcinogenesis by contact with aminophenols and 1-4 benzodiazines. The aim of this study was to identify 6 aromatic amines used in commercial hair dye substances by 4 developing solvents and 2 indicator sprays, using a thin layer chromatography (TLC) method. The aromatic amines substances were identified by comparing the Rf values and colors between samples and reference substances. The results showed that each sample contains 3-5 aromatic amines. The superiority of this method in the present study was compared with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and four laboratories participated in the validation and the results showed good interlaboratory reproducibility. Abstract: 

The aesthetic and pleasing properties of a product are important and significantly add to the meaning and relevance of a product. There has been a strong industrial and academic interest and need to establish hardware and/or software systems in order to quantify and link appearance properties to their human response equivalences. In this study, we intend to review models which have been proposed to quantify human perceptions of appearance features. To this end the importance of Kansei Engineering in appearance is considered. This is a tool for linking consumer expectations of products with valid design parameters. Abstract: 

Paper documents are included an important part of cultural and historic property. As time passes, these works are always prone to yellowing as an aesthetic damage. In this study, for the purpose of reduce the colour changes of Klucel-G polymer (Hydroxypropyl cellulose) as a very common size in paper documents restoration, inhibition behavior of colour change for two types of Nanofibers of Bacterial Cellulose (BCN) and Fibrillated Cellulose (NFC) into this polymer, by coating onto filter-paper samples were evaluated; Then, using artificial aging, UV-Vis spectroscopy and SEM microscope methods, the results were analyzed. Based on findings, the presence of these nanofibers after aging led to inhibition of the total colour changes (Δ E), so that BCN showed the highest inhibition. As a sub-purpose, increasing the concentration of Klucel-G led to exacerbation of colour changes after aging. Totally, adding these nanofibers into the Klucel-G, as a coating on paper prevent colour changes and on the other hand, applying more concentrations of Klucel should be avoided. J. Color Sci.
