INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES IN THE HUMANITIES (IRANIAN JOURNAL OF CULTURAL RESEARCH)

Interdisciplinarity as a subject in science studies is regarding to the way that different sciences and their results are combined to reach a comprehensive understanding of scientific subjects. Interdisciplinarity is a solution to cross the hard boundaries of sciences and make them closer and relative to each others. Disciplinarity has been the result of division among the sciences, and Interdisciplinarity is the way to solve the limitation of this division.Study of Culture as multi dimensional phenomena in human life required an interdisciplinary perspective. Anthropology as a science of human and culture formed in the historical situations that its founders and subjects came from other disciplines. In this paper I try to discuss from interdisciplinary perspective on the historical and theoretical framework of anthropology. As a result it is stated that interdisciplinary frameworks of anthropology originated from its beginnings and have continued till today. Finally these aspects characterize the study of culture as interdisciplinary field; anthropology among the social science can do this job in its best level.

After passing the different limitations, historical-cultural limitations, an approving movement of French school, estudes transversals have been justified by Remak and R. Wellek as a novice field for comparative literature. The field produces a new region, the end of monologue, solitude, the analysis of human science, especially literature, other arts relating to human science (music, drawing, taking picture, cinema, philosophy, politics sociology…), therefore literature provides material for other arts, knowledge, discourse, and human mystery. The author is to examine why estudes transversals of comparative literature turns into the criticism of methological study, hence some of comparative studies have been documented in order to examine the quality and quantity.

In Al Farabi and Avicenna point of view, Knowledge is synonymous with philosophy. This root divided to theoretical and practical branches. From these two derived different types of specialized sciences. In this cluster diagram come together two pictures of unity and plurality of specialized disciplines. However, this position is not the equivalent of modern disciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. It's not even equivalent of unity of these two together. This kind of Science is different of Science in modern period. This paper wants to show the Al Farabi and Avicenna point of view about Sciences is not the disciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. At the end, I use the word of Predisciplinary for Al Farabi and Avicenna's view.

In order to make the combination of different approaches in different disciplines possible, interdisciplinary studies need to be founded on a clear theoretical framework in which explorer’s mistake could be decreased. Thus, it is necessary to apply theoretical framework of the original discipline within the explorations in the other’s studies. This might lead the explorer towards an interdisciplinary conception of the subject. Investigating political thought in cinematic studies, the present study attempts to evaluate such hypothesis. Thus, based on Spragens’ Theoretical framework in formulating political thought, the cinematic works are analyzed beyond their aesthetic features, and so, the directors are studied as the narrators of political thought in visual mode.

Relationship among different sciences to respond to specific questions that a science can not solve alone, pushes the scientific world to the emergencing of new interdisciplinary courses. As a result, Linguistics as a science that studies about language (which is a complex human, social and cognitive phenomenon) needs other related sciences. Today too much attention to areas such as Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Educational linguistics, Computational linguistics and Forensic Linguistics shows developing of interdisciplinary studies. Neurolinguistics, which is the main point of this paper, is a branch of macro linguistics which emerged not more than a few decades ago. The main theme of this science is the relationship between language and human brain mechanisms. The main questions that Neurolinguistics tries to answer are as follow: How is language learned, processed and represented in the brain? In fact, Neurolinguistics wants to find more information about the biological organization of the first and second language function. On the other hand, it tries to solve the problem of thousands of patients around the world suffering from aphasia which neither Neurology nor linguistics is able to treat on its own.The first part of this paper deals with the history of Neurolinguistics and the main theories on relationship between language and brain. The second refers to categorization of different Aphasia and the last part will briefly discuss language learning and biligualism.

Numerous researchers and theoreticians have attempted to study and investigate various respects of the organization. Based on these studies, different ideas and images have been offered on this concept, the most important of which are the pictures depicted and offered in the works of «Garreth Morgan» and «Mary Joe Hatch». In this study, the function of metaphors in the process of cognition is examined, organization metaphors are briefly reviewed, and some theories and views which are mostly in accordance with the mentioned metaphors are considered. Finally, the possibility for discussions on the concept of «semantic boomerang» or «semantic return of metaphors» is provided and its considerable functions and dysfunctions are examined. In the case study, by focusing on the cultural engineering as a derived concept of metaphors semantic boomerang, the way of metaphor boomerang and emerging this concept in Iranian policy making literature is described.This paper in terms of results is a basic research and in terms of purpose is exploratory and in terms of applied data is qualitative. The method is case study. The data gathering tool is documentary which by using different sources, necessary data have been gathered and analyzed by models comparison analysis method.
