Abstract:

There are wetlands and water zoning with unique features such as Shadegan wetland which is considered a national treasure, but unfortunately this ecosystem, includs many of today risks resulting from human activities considering the important of Shadegan Wetland the present study aimed to determine major environmental risks (the most important environmental important acceptor Abadan gas turbine power plant) and their impact on wetlands Shadegan. As a case study, a questionnaire was prepared in Delphi method and handed to some of the elite and power industry and environmental experts. In this study, to analysis environmental risks Abadan gas power plant on the Shadegan wetland methods of multiple criteria decision making and TOPSIS eigenvector were used. For this purpose, after prioritizing risks of each environment separately using TOPSIS, a one-way ANOVA was used and priority of environmental risk acceptor Abadan gas power plant in the wetland was determined. Results of calculated risk Abadan gas power plant showed that in biological had a physical, chemical and cultural environments the effects on air quality had 0.918 weight, the effect on plant and animal population had a weight of 0.866 and view and landscapes had a weight of 0.796 are The most important risks affecting power plant activity on wetland. More solutions to control and reduce the risks identified for sensitive wetland ecosystem and wildlife shelterd Shadegan. Some of these solutions are: variability of activities within the enclosed invironment, the creation and development of green space using consistent species with the environment

This study was done on Yellofin seabream (Acanthopagrus latus), caught from Persian Gulf in Bandar-e-Mahshahr in Summer, 2009. After biometrical measurements, the skin and muscle tissue of 15 randomly selected fish were separated using standard method of MOOPAM 1999. The two metals were extracted from skin and muscle tissues using Closed Digestion method and asidic mixture. Concentrations of the heavy metals were measured by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (FAAS PERKIN ELMER4100). Mean concentration for lead in skin and muscle tissue in Yellofin seabream were 1.98±0.7 and 2.96±0.71ppm/dry weight, respectively. Also, The Mean concentration for cadmium in skin and muscle tissue in Yellofin seabream were 1.87±0.43 and 1.03±0.33, respectively. The results showed that there is a significant difference between lead and cadmium concentrations in skin and muscle tissue in Yellofin seabream (P<0.05). Also, the results showed that Pb and Cd concentrations in Yellofin seabream was higher than levels of recommended by World Health Organization WHO, NHMRC and the UK (MAFF).

Abstract:

In this investigation effectiveness of a Gonadotropin hormone (GnRHa) and Carp pituitary extract (CPE) on spawning success, fecundity, fertilization success and survival rate in Goldfish Carassius auratus were studied. The brood stocks of Goldfish were divided to 5 treatments were injected as follows: 10mg/kg BW GnRHa and 20mg/kg BW GnRHa and 3mg/kg BW CPE and 5mg/kg BW CPE. The females were injected in 2 times (with 12 hours distance) and the males were injected once (simultaneous with second injection of females). Finally, in the fishes that received hormones, all of them were ready for spawning, but non of control group’s fishes was ready for spawning. Total achievable eggs in hormonal treatment fishes on sequence in 10 mg/kgBW GnRHa, 20 mg/kgBW GnRHa, 3 mg/kgBW CPE & 5 mg/kgBW CPE were 2110±57.81, ±2557±41.51, 1962±55.07 & 2429±65.01. Fertilizibility of the treatments on sequence were1399.2±47.55, 1772.78±48.47, 1179.5±49.19 & 1590.3±38.52. Hatchability of the treatments on sequence were 1206±32.96, 1491.4±36.83, 982.8±53.53 &1395.5±32.23 and the survival rates of larvae were 1092.9±33.41, 1336.17±41.3, 880.62±54.43 & 1230.74±32.89.Results showed that hormonal (CPE and GnRHa) induced propagation of Goldfish was successful. Relative fecundity, fertilizibility, hatchability and survival rates of larvae were not significantly different between treatments 1 and 3 and between treatments 2 and 4 (P<0.05) respectively. Dunnet test was showed significant differences among control and treatment groups.

Abstract:

The present study has investigated polychaete worms in a muddy-sandy shore in Bandar Abbas in two sites. The first site which was receiving urban sewage of the city and was next to Terminal was named "Terminal". The second site was next to Goharshad Hotel and was named "Goharshad". Present research was conducted in a one year period starting from July 2005 until June 2006 on a monthly basis. Sampling was done using a hand corer. Results showed that five families of polychaete worms, comprising 6 species, were present as macrofauna in the sites. The identified families were: Nereididae, Nephtyidae, Spionidae, Capitellidae, and Glyceridae. The family Spionidae was most diverse while Nephtyidae were the most abundant family. Results indicated that the polychaete worms were relatively sparse. This was more considerable in high intertidal areas. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the two sites (p>0.05). Also it was clear that main habitat for the polychaete worms is low intertidal zone.

Abstract:

In this study, concentration of Cd, Pb, Hg & Fe was determined in muscle of eighteen kind of Otolithes rubber caught from fisheries stations in Bandar Abbas in Summer 2009 and Winter 2010.Concentration were compaired with their MRL(max. permissible residual level) in international standard. After preparation of the sample and digestion by AOAC methods, concentration of (Cd, Pb, Hg & Fe) was determined using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Mean fish weight was 520.05g and the mean (Cd, Pb, Hg & Fe) in the muscle of samples were 0.015, 0.02, 0.11, 4.02mg/g dry weight, respectively. Positive correlation between weight and concentrations of Cd, Pb, Hg & Fe in the muscle (mg/g dw) were observed (P< 0.05). There were significant differences between concentration of Cd, Pb & Hg in seasons (P<0.05). Based on the result, Cd, Pb, Hg & Fe content found in the studied fish samples were not significant. The amount of these elements in this kind of fish is less than MRL of WHO, NHMRC, MAFF and FDA.

Abstract:

Effects of salinity, ammonium and cytokinin were evaluated on Gracilaria corticata algae in a period of 42 days under vitro condition. G. corticata was sampled from coasts of Bandar Bostaneh in Hormozgan Province in June 2009.The algae were raised in aquariums, 40*30*60 cm with 20 liter capacity, and using suspension method in 3 replicates. Light intensity to grow was 3300 lux and temperature was 35 degree centigrade. The treatments include 25ppt (salinity of brakishwater), 35ppt (marine), ammonium (0.001& 0.002 mol.) and cytokinin (0.01, 0.001 & 0.0001mol.). Sampels were harvested once a week. Length, weight and relative growth rate were measured. Result showed that, effects of environmental factors of salinity, ammonium and cytokinin on G. corticata were significant(P<0.05).The growth of G. corticata in different levels of concentration of cytokinin and salinity and ammonium in different days showed significant differences and its maximum level was observed in ammonium concentration of 0.002 mol. with 8.02 percent.

Abstract:

In this study, the effect of letrozole drug as aromatase inhibitor on changes of some Sex steroids on mature and immature female Zebrafish was investigated. For this Purpose, after dechlorination of aquarium water, mature fishes with mean weight (0.32±0.5 g) and immature (0.15±0.5 g) were released, experiments in 8 treatments (2 treatments as control and six treatments as experimental) were done. Different doses of Letrozole 10, 20 and 30 mg per kg fish into Intramuscular injection (IM) and the amount of 0.001 ml was injected and the injections in 10 days (every other day) were performed. Then hormones (estradiol and testosterone) in experimental treatments were measured The results of comparing the level of steroids among treatments of different showed that testestron amount increased in mature fish (0.04, 0.63, 0.62, 0.82 mg/kg) treated compared with control treatment and in third treatment increased much more than the other two were treated and also estradiol amount decreased (2.7, 1.6, 1.85, 2.05 mg/kg) in all treatments that represented the inhibitory function of Letrozole drug (p<0.05).
