Abstract:

This study has been done to investigate crab funa of sub tidal regions in Gulf of Oman,  2010. To this purpose, a stern trawles, 56 stations from Hormoz strait to Meydani area were designated. Localities in thirteen species belonging to eight genera from seven families were identified. The most frequent family was Portunidae with 56% and high commercial value, and the least frequency observed by Calappidae and Parthenopidae with 2%.

Abstract:

The effects of Cobalt and Nickel on LC5024h and  protein of Artemia urmiana was investigated In 2010. Nauplii were reared for 6 days at different concentrations of Nickel and Cobalt. They fed with Chlorella and yeast. The condition of culture was temperature of 20-28oc , salinity of 28 ppt, and photoperiod 12:12 (light: dark) cycle. Naplii were harvested after 6 days experiment for protein extraction. Lowry  method was used for protein assay. Protein level in the vicinity of different Cobalt and Nickel concentrations showed significant differences. The most amount of the protein in the vicinity of Cobalt was 3.13 percent that belonged to 41 mg.l-1. In the vicinity of nickel, it was 14.90 percent and belonged to 167 mg.l-1. The level of LC5024h for Artemia was estimated 403.7 mg.l-1 in the vicinity of Cobalt and 384 mg.l-1 in the vicinity of nickel.

Abstract:

This study was carried out to describe the relationship between environmental factors and development of cnidarians communities in artificial habitats of Bahrekan coastal water in Northwest of Persian Gulf. The samples were collected by SCUBA diving and (quadrates of 0.25´0.25m)  4 sites seasonally between May 2009 up to February 2010. Determining the wet weight showed these artificial reefs are strongly dominated by cnidarians. Chemical and physical factors including temperature, salinity, Do, pH and turbidity in each season were measured and their relationships with biomass of cnidarians were studied. Total biomass of cnidarians did not show any significant difference for the sampling months(P<0.05). Moreover, this study revealed that there is an intensive correlation between biomass and salinity (R2=0.82). The lowest correlation was observed between pH and biomass (R2=0.21).

Abstract:

The present work reports on blood profile measured of 4-5 years old Great sturgeon cultured in brackish water ponds in Bafgh-Iran, summer 2005. Blood sampling was performed in caudal vein every three month and plasma was frozen for future analysis. Hormone levels were measured by Radio ImmunoAssay (RIA), Glucose by Authoanalyser, calcium and magnesium by spectrophotometer and sodium and potassium by filmphotometer in Yazd central laboratory. Statistical results showed that some biochemical parameter have direct significant correlation including glucose/calcium, sodium/potassium, sodium/magnesium; potassium/calcium and potassium/magnesium, that with increase of someone, amount of other will be increase. Among hormonal profile, testosteronez/estradiol had direct significant correlation normaly with increasing one, the second increases too. In addition, Cortisol with glucose, sodium and potassium had also direct significant correlation, but Cortisol had not any significant correlation with sextual and this correlation was inverted. Eventually the relation of Esteradiol with Testosterone calcium is according to the some reports.

Abstract:

Although Coastal regions have occupied less than 15% of the earth surface, but (they invalue) 60% of the world  population. These regions defined as eco-tone have more susceptibility than other  terrestrial ecosystems. Pressure increase on these regions can decrease the quality of habitats and even ssensitive them. This study was done according to the national strategic plans of Irans fishery and environment to achieve general classification and encoding the coastal regions ecologically. It was conducted in 2010 based on coastal and marine ecological classification standard (CMECS) criteria as well as library and field studies, satellite photographs analysis, spatial coverage maps and two groups of data including surface geo-morphological components and bio-covering components. Eventually, the habitats were encoded. The results of the assessments determined the habitat adversity of the studied region (Mazandaran province) was bound to 4 types comprising coastal and sandy as the dominant types and estuary (seasonal and permanent rivers) and swamp ones. Environmental changes (season) could be identifiable and distinguishable for two fluctuation periods of spring-summer and fall winter.

Abstract:

The present research was carried out in winter 2010 and summer 2011 for the purpose of determining the concentration amount of the heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Ni) in liver and muscle tissues of the “Scomberomorus guttatus” in Hormozgan province water, (Bandar Abbas) shore. In every season, 20 samples were selected by simple random method. The samples were tested biologically. Afterwards, microwave digestion method was used to extract metals from the muscles and liver of the fishes. Lead, Nickel and Cadmium content were determined by Varian atomic furnace equipment, GTA 100 model. Average concentrations of Lead, Cadmium and Nickel in liver were determined to be 0.4652±0.03897, 0.3536±0.03552 and 0.5010±0.06972 and in muscle 0.2934±0.02661, 0.0375±0.00319 and 0.2667±0.04930 mg/g-1 on dry weight respectively. Results indicated, using Kruskal-wallis test, that there is a significant different between the content of the three metals in liver tissue and muscle of fishes (P<0.05).

Abstract:

The research was conducted to investigation Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) concentrations in the muscle and liver tissues of Whitecheek shark (Carcharhinus dussumieri) and Milk shark (Rhizoprion odonacutus) in the coasts of Bandar Abbas, in winter 2010. Cd and Pb concentrations were determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometrery Perkin Elmer 800. The average ±SD of Cd and Pb concentrations were in the muscle tissue of Whitecheek shark (<0.02-0.13±0.02 mg/g w wt respectively) and Milk shark (<0.02-0.09±0.01 µg/g w wt respectively). Whereas, the average±SD of Cd and Pb concentrations were in the liver tissues of Whitecheek shark (0.09±0.01-0.40±0.03 µg/g w wt respectively) and Milk shark (0.06±0.01-0.32±0.04 mg/g w wt respectively). Cd concentration in the muscle tissue and Pb concentration in both muscle and liver tissues of Whitecheek shark their comparison with Milk shark showed a significant difference (P<0.05). A significant (P<0.05) positive relationships were found between shark size (fork-length and weight) and Cd concentration in the liver and Pb concentration in the muscle and liver tissues of Whitecheek shark and Milk shark. The results show that heavy metals concentration change according to the type of metal, target organ, species and metabolism. In this study, the average ±SD of Cd and Pb concentrations in the livers of both sharks are higher than the minimum standards of EU and FAO/WHO Joint Commission respectively.

Abstract:

In this investigation, the abundance and biomass of Cyanobacteria was studied in relation to season changes and in the range of Tonekabon to Amirabad (in southern basin of Mazandaran Sea). Sampling was done in depths of 5,10, 20, 50 and 100 m of Tonekabon, Noshahr, Babolsar and Amirabad station. By samples were consequently fixed with formalin 2.5 and transferred to labratory for more studies. The results of the investigation indicated that most of 10 Cyanobacteria species identified in this region are Lyngbya sp. and Oscillatoria sp. This two species are the most aboundant among Cyanobacterias. This abundance varies from 56% in summer to 54% in autumn for Oscillatoria and 43% in summer and 40% in autumn for Lyngbya. Regarding the high temperature in summer season, the abundance of both species is 19 time more than autumn.
