Abstract:

In Persian literary texts, there have sometimes been some issues that need to be studied and researched more closely. In such cases, the author’s own works or relevant and contemporary texts can be used to get to the original concept of the issue. For example, we can focus on cases like fortune, salamander, the way to find camphor, the reading of al-hamd (the first chapter of the Koran) to a patient, etc. and understand the original concept. This article deals with some of such issues.

Abstract:

The precious book of Me'yar al-Ash'ar written by khajeh Nasir Toosi, the seventh-century great philosopher, on rhythms and rhymes of Persian and Arabic poetry has recently been published in the book “Poems and Poetry in Khajeh Nasir’s Works,” but surprisingly the proof-reader has added some errors to it instead of correcting it.

Abstract:

Parvin E’tesami, Yoosef E’tesam al-Molk Ashtiani’s refined daughter, is the prominent Iranian woman poet and an eternal figure in Persain literature. Her poems, though simple, are praiseworthy. Responsibility and authenticity are two unavoidable priciples of her poetry. She never composes a poem for fun. She has employed her mature and proficient language to speak of the finest human emotions in the form of eloquent songs. She has generously spent her short life in order to glorify humans and to propagate humanity.Without any preconceptions and with an emphasis on her own words, this article tries to recognize the real themes of her poetry and to present them in a tangible way.

Abstract:

Farvahar (spirit) is an Avestan word that means “pre-advancer.” It had two meanings in ancient beliefs: first, the spirit of ancestors in the past; second, every human’s basic source of essence that existed in the heavens before his creation, i.e. his spiritual form. Some believe that Plato based his philosophical ideas (exemplars) on the Farvahar philosophy. Despite the fact that Farvahar is a spiritual force and does not have a physical form, Iranians have created a mysterious and meaningful symbol for it that can still be seen in ancient monuments and inscriptions.Ferdowsi’s great Shahnameh has retained mythical mysterious symbols like ever-glowing torches. The Farvahar philosophy can be seen in different places in Shahnameh, but all the mysterious concepts of this symbol seem to have been institutionalized in Varjavand. This article deals with this issue.

Abstract:

In recent decades, more and more attention has been paid to Sa’adi and his works, but some hidden aspects of his poems can still be detected by paying more attention. At the beginning of his ghazals, Sa’di has presented a monotheistic ghazal and at the beginning of this ghazal, he has expressed his monotheistic belief in a beautiful and eloquent way in the Tayyebat section of the ghazal. (Tayyebat section is the most important part of his ghazals.)To praise God, Sa`adi speaks of beautiful countenance and character instead of speaking of God’s other blessings and creatures. He has mentioned this and has defended it in different ghazals. The result is the formation of average ghazals (both real and allegorical). In the end, he has managed to introduce ethical love. He has explained the ethics of love in the Golestan and Boostan.

Abstract:

Ebn al-Farez is a great mystic of the 8th century. He is known as a poet of love. Those who have explicated his poems have followed different approaches. Some have likened his poems to those by Abunovas and other lyricists and have considered his love to be earthly and material, while others have focused on the spiritual aspects. It is not easy to understand his poems without some knowledge of mystic terms and concepts. With a closer look at his poetry, one makes sure that his poetry is the flow of a clean spirit to words. It is an image of divine love originating from God’s essence. Artificial language is never able to carry such a flow. This article presents a brief account of his mystic character and his mystical and spiritual advantages. The article continues to analyze some of his poems to show the mystical aspects of his poetry and his skill in creating the most difficult rhymes as well as his poetic style.

Abstract:

Some allegories and parables in Persian literature have an ancient history. Understanding and tracing their origins and their original forms in ancient sources can make us familiar with an authentic part of the goals and approaches of the allegory or parable. The famous allegory of “The Elephant and the Blind” is an example. This article first mentions and critiques the various familiar versions; then it refers to an authentic and important source in ancient historical and ritual sources. Because this source goes back to the long history of cultural and historical relations in Iran and is compatible with the geographical and ritual signs in the great Khorasan, it can be regarded as a noteworthy and important source for this allegory.

Abstract:

An awareness of the individual and social life of the creator of a work plays a great role in studying an artistic work, especially a poem. Studying a work can be said to be extremely difficult without noting the environmental and social conditions in which it is created. This article tries to refer to some family and social conditions that have influenced the poetry of these two great poets. Some common senses and meanings in their poems will also be studied.

Abstract:

This article tries to explicate and analyze a couplet from Manteq al-Tayr that has been left unattended and unexplicated or has not been understood by all explicators of Manteq al-Tayr. The first hemistich of this couplet refers to a tradition and the second to a Koranic verse, both widely reflected in Persian poetry. In the first hemistich, a dog is regarded as a criterion for acceptability before God. The second hemistich refers to a famous pious man who is inflicted with vanity. The details have been studied with authentic reasons.
