Abstract:

Quality of service delivery is an important factor in customer satisfaction. Based on this, recognizing the perceptions and expectations of service recipients is considered as a factor in improving the quality from the customer's point of view. This study aims to assess the quality and determine the gap between students 'expectations and perceptions of educational services and students' satisfaction prediction to compare the perceptual models and expectations of students about educational services. This is a descriptive-exploratory study. The statistical population of this study included all students studying at the Faculty of Engineering in the first semester of 2016-2017. Since the study of all the statistical society was not possible, 313 students were selected using a systematic random sampling method and a standard questionnaire was given to them. The questionnaire was designed in 25 pairs of design questions and input and output data in three different models of perceptions and expectations, perceptions, and gaps in the artificial neural network. The results showed that artificial neural networks were able to predict the quality of service quality estimation using the collected data of the perceptual model with less error and more accuracy than the other two models. Also, the most important variables in the quality of educational services, the presentation of the materials in a comprehensible manner, the suitability of the time of classes, the holding of special training courses in each discipline, the faculty flexibility in dealing with student conditions, and the holding of camps and extra-curricular training programs determined.

Abstract:

It is less than 20 years that the concept of chemical product engineering and chemical product engineer is introduced by chemical engineers. The concept is introduced by US universities and followed by the EU universities afterward. They have introduced the chemical product engineering course at BSc and MSc levels. It is in some universities taught as a project at graduate level to the students. To master the chemical product engineering the new knowledge of bio and nanosciences are essential. The strategy for making product engineering structural consists of 4 stages which are named; The need, ideas, selections and manufacture. The production of specialty products takes place in a batch process. That is due to a low amount of production and the need for a change of products. Even though production specialty products have the risk of market rejection, but the initial profit justifies the risk. It is found unfortunate that the same trend is not followed in Iran's universities.

Abstract:

In recent years, the decentralization of higher education has grown tremendously, and the idea that everyone should have the opportunity to get education wherever and whenever, has become more prominent. The emergence of global communication networks and powerful computer technologies has also redefined the concept of distant engineering education. In recent years, engineering education has become possible anywhere and anytime, but this has not been for all areas of engineering education. In the developed countries, number of institutions that provide online BSc degree in engineering is limited. One of the most important reasons for this is the inadequacy of online training to fulfill the accreditation criteria of engineering education programs. In the last decade, in Iran, online training has been widely developed at all levels. This is despite the fact that there are still no reports on the quality and effectiveness of this method of education. In this paper the feasibility of online engineering education is investigated in the developed countries and in Iran and suggestions are made to improve online engineering education in Iran.

Abstract:

In this article, the status of research in Iran has been evaluated with a focus on the field of engineering and especially mechanical engineering. To achieve this goal, the quantity and quality of research have been studied and compared with developed and developing countries. The number of scientific publications has been used as the main quantitative index. In order to assess the quality of research, qualitative indicators such as the number of citations, the ratio of citation per document, the h-index, the scientific conferences and the top researchers have been analyzed. The results indicate that the quantity of the publications is favorable. In terms of the quantity of publications in the field of mechanical engineering, Iran ranked 14th in the world, and the ranking of the country is suitable for the h-index, which is a qualitative indicator of scientific production, while looking at the other qualitative index, which refers to the number of citation per document, the rank of Iran among the other countries is not suitable. In this article, suggestions have been made to improve the quality of research.

Abstract:

Algebraic geometry is one of the dynamic branches of pure mathematics, which has received a large part of the current research of mathematical experts in the world. In this branch of science, geometric issues are expressed in algebraic language. With the advent of technology in recent decades, the advancement of computer speed and processing power, the computational algebraic geometry branch has been increasingly considered. Today, we are witnessing the introduction of various algorithms for solving algebraic geometry problems by various software. On the other hand, mathematical optimization is one of the most powerful branches of applied mathematics, which today has vast applications in other sciences (including economics, social sciences, and engineering). In this paper, we intend to introduce the reader to the algebraic geometry by solving some problems by exploring how to use algebraic geometry methods to solve optimization problems. We will explain these methods by expressing an example of optimization. Finally, we will work out an optimization code by coding in one of the computational algebraic geometry software called CoCoA.

Abstract:

In spite of all researches on medical imaging, this field of study is still a hot subject around the glob and in Iran. Dissertations of Iranian students can be considered as an indicator for assessment of medical imaging science in Iran. In this paper, data gathering from the three disciplines is conducted: medical engineering, medical radiation engineering, and medical physics from more than 20 Iranian state universities. The data which are collected from 2006 to 2017, are classified into six major fields: CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Imaging, Radiography, and Software development. Then, the thesis are statistically evaluated in three bachelor's, master’ s and doctorate degrees. In the final stage, results are evaluated, clarified, and interpreted. It is found that in recent years, there has been an upward trend and then a downward trend in the number of related dissertations of Iranian students. This study can be seen as a model for assessment of the educational and research status in different disciplines.

Abstract:

Iran’ s society movement from current situation to preferable developed condition has been turned into a common sense among Iranian scientist, elites and politicians. Politician, elites and scientists of Iran society in their self-consciousness and tangible layer of knowledge believe that using experts and gifted people’ capabilities for development and even through reverse the brain drain absorbing and recruiting trained and educated people into the helping their own country’ development, since human asset is one of the most important driving forces behind development. In this research we dive to concept of brain drain and high skilled diaspora. The primary question here is whether Iranians who are living in abroad are contributing to the growth of their home country. The conventional view conceives of the emigration of citizens from their countries of origin as necessarily depriving their home countries of their services. The proposed methodology for answering this question is causal layered analysis (CLA). According to this methodology, there exist different factors that are conducive to brain drain, which can be categorized as either tangible or non-tangible.
