In spite of all researches on medical imaging, this field of study is still a hot subject around the glob and in Iran. Dissertations of Iranian students can be considered as an indicator for assessment of medical imaging science in Iran. In this paper, data gathering from the three disciplines is conducted: medical engineering, medical radiation engineering, and medical physics from more than 20 Iranian state universities. The data which are collected from 2006 to 2017, are classified into six major fields: CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Imaging, Radiography, and Software development. Then, the thesis are statistically evaluated in three bachelor's, master’ s and doctorate degrees. In the final stage, results are evaluated, clarified, and interpreted. It is found that in recent years, there has been an upward trend and then a downward trend in the number of related dissertations of Iranian students. This study can be seen as a model for assessment of the educational and research status in different disciplines.
