Background and Objective: Hookah smoking is on the rise significantly among families, young people, and especially women and it is regarded as a new challenge for public health. This research aims to investigate the variables of attitude and perceived behavioral control in reducing smoking hookah in women over 15 years in Bandar Abbas. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 128 women over 15 years who had at least once hookah smoking at day were selected using a multistage stratified cluster survey design. They have classified in two groups of case and control groups (64 people per group). Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire based on the theory of planned behavior constructs and demographic information. Participants filled out questionnaires before the intervention. The educational intervention was conducted for the experimental group in 4 sessions based on pre-test results. 2 months after the intervention, both groups were evaluated and filled out the questionnaire. Finally, their information was assessed using independent paired t-test, t-test, and chi-square test. Results: The results showed that there is significant difference in the attitude score and perceived behavioral control in the intervention group after the educational intervention and the educational intervention was effective (P<0. 05). In addition, the frequency of hookah smoking among women in the intervention group compared to controls has significantly decreased after the intervention (P<0. 05). Conclusion: The implementation of a curriculum based on the theory of planned behavior suggests the positive effect of the educational program on attitude and perceived behavioral control and ultimately reducing the use of hookah.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of educational intervention based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model on mental health of middleaged women referred to municipal health centers in Tehran. Materials and Methods: A semi-experimental study was conducted using random sampling method among72 middle-aged women of selected comprehensive health houses in the city. The data were analyzed by SPSS 19 and using the statistical, Chi-square, T-test, etc. Results: The results showed that the mean age of women was 47. 9. After the educational intervention, the mean score of the PRECEDE Model (Predisposing factors, enabling factors, reinforcing factors), and behavior Increased in the intervention group significantly compared to the control group (P<0. 001). The findings showed a significant improvement in the mean mental health score from 26. 3 to 16. 1 among women in the intervention group compared to the control group after imposing educational intervention (P<0. 05). Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the health education program designed based on the PRECEDE PROCEED Model is effective on the mental health of the middle-aged women.

Background and Objective: Self-care behaviors during pregnancy can be effective in reducing the adverse consequences of pregnancy. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of educational intervention based on the integrated model of health belief model with the structure of social support on self-care behaviors during pregnancy. Materials and Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental study conducted among 90 pregnant women in the first abdomen of Iranshahr in 2017. The samples were selected by simple random sampling and divided into two groups of intervention (45 people) and control (45 people). 5 training sessions were held for the intervention group and no intervention was performed in the control group. Six months after the training intervention, the questionnaire was completed by both groups. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software version 20 and independent t-test, paired t-test and chi-square test. Results: The results showed that the mean scores of pregnant mothers in Perceived susceptibility structures 1. 74(±, 0/17), Perceived severity 4. 55(±, 0/05), Perceived benefits 0. 63(±, 0/05), self-efficacy 3. 67(±, 0/41), social support structure 5. 13(±, 0/63) and self-care behaviors 3. 15(±, 0/38) showed a significant increase in the intervention group (p<0. 001). In the comparison of birth weight, there was a statistically significant difference between the intervention and control groups after the educational intervention (P = 0. 036). Conclusion: The combination of health belief model and social support structure can be used as a suitable framework for designing and implementing educational interventions aimed at promoting the self-care behaviors of pregnant women and birth weight.

Data collection tools were a three-part questionnaire including: demographic information and a standard questionnaire of self-efficacy and self-care of blood pressure. Data were analyzed using t-test, analysis of variance, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, linear correlation and regression by SPSS software version 20 with a significance level of 0. 05. Results: Based on the findings, self-efficacy and self-care behaviors with scores of 40. 43 ±,10. 13 and 48. 78±, 10. 66 were relatively undesirable.
